Blake Lively Majorly Changed the Ending of DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE

As a long-time gamer and avid film buff with a penchant for superhero movies, I must say that Blake Lively‘s impact on Deadpool & Wolverine was nothing short of remarkable. I remember eagerly waiting for this movie, and while I was initially skeptical about Lady Deadpool’s voice, Lively’s performance blew me away. However, it wasn’t just her voice acting skills that made an impression; her creative input on the film’s ending was a game-changer!

In the action-packed movies, “Deadpool” and “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Blake Lively left a significant mark as Lady Deadpool, even though her face remained hidden. Almost immediately after the first glimpse of the character, rumors about Lively’s involvement surfaced. It turned out that these speculations were spot on, although it’s essential to clarify that Lively provided the voice for Lady Deadpool in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” while stuntwoman Christiaan Bettridge physically portrayed the character. What’s more intriguing is that Blake Lively had a substantial influence on “Deadpool & Wolverine” beyond merely giving Lady Deadpool her distinctive voice. In fact, she significantly altered the movie’s ending. You can find all the details below.

In the commentary for the Deadpool & Wolverine movie, director Shawn Levy mentioned that Blake Lively provided an excellent suggestion which significantly changed the ending of Deadpool & Wolverine. Levy explained about the movie’s revised ending: “Previously, there was no tension as the power room would explode, and our heroes would survive. However, Blake Lively suggested we should let her share in the fear that they might not make it. This way, the audience can experience the suspense, making their survival more emotionally and physically impactful.” Levy added: “That was a suggestion from Blake [Lively], and it led to a new perspective on this movie segment. As a result, we did reshoots… and now, the payoff is much more rewarding.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share an interesting tidbit about the making of Deadpool & Wolverine. Despite having just a day-and-a-half for reshoots, the team brilliantly implemented Blake Lively’s idea during this time. Her suggestion significantly amplified the emotional depth of the movie’s ending, a fact that I believe fellow fans will wholeheartedly agree with.
