Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo Address Annoyed Fans For Crying Too Much on Wicked Press Tour; ‘My Tear Ducts Are Tired’

As a dedicated fan who has followed the careers of Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo for years, it’s heartwarming to see their emotional bond and shared experience during the making of Wicked. The tears that have become a running joke throughout the promotion tour are a testament to their deep commitment and investment in this project.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo wept profusely during the entire press tour for the upcoming movie Wicked, where they portray Glinda and Elphaba respectively. Their emotional performances have sparked interest and amusement on social media ahead of its release on November 22nd.

The promotion of the Wicked movie has led to several instances where people have shed tears, which has turned into a recurring joke. Filmmaking on Wicked started in December 2022 after being delayed by COVID-19 and later by the SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023. These delays made it feel like the film’s production took an eternity for the cast, given the project’s long and drawn-out journey to completion.

For the first time, Ariana and Cynthia explained to fans and the public the reason behind their emotional interviews on E! News. In a humorous exchange, they admitted that they had cried so much that their tear ducts seemed exhausted.

Ariana Grande expressed, “Today alone, we’ve shed tears 500 times. This is essentially a public service announcement, so I apologize in advance. And to those who might find us irritating, let me tell you now – if you’re just going to comment about how annoying it is, I’ll go ahead and say it first: I’m feeling annoyed, I’m tired. My tear ducts are exhausted.

Prior to our interview, Erivo and Grande confessed to one another that they had both been emotional in a parking lot earlier, reminiscing about the strong bond they’d formed over the past few years of friendship. “We’ve gone through an incredibly difficult time together,” Erivo explained, “and we’ve managed to stand by each other.

In her words, Cynthia expressed that their shared tears underscored the trials they had faced together. Furthermore, she hinted at the depth of their bond stretching beyond what’s visible to others. Ariana concurred, pointing out that off-camera moments carried immense weight and played a crucial role in shaping their relationship positively.

In a different conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Ariana Grande emphasized, “It’s been around three years now, so people should remember that!” The musical “Wicked” featuring Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, and others will hit theaters on November 22.
