Kevin Feige Says Marvel Is ‘Committed to Blade’ with Mahershala Ali After Removing Film From MCU Release Calendar

As a long-time Marvel fan and avid gamer who’s been through more plot twists than a MMO questline, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension regarding the MCU’s Blade movie. The project’s journey has been as convoluted as an Escher painting, and I’ve come to expect the unexpected from Marvel Studios.

The journey for the MCU’s adaptation of Blade has faced numerous hurdles. The film has been delayed and reworked more than fans would prefer. Most recently, Marvel Studios removed Blade from its release schedule, causing a flurry of speculation among fans. However, it appears that an MCU movie starring Mahershala Ali as Blade may indeed come to fruition, although the exact timeline remains uncertain. At D23 Brazil, Kevin Feige confirmed that the Blade film with Mahershala Ali is definitely in the works and Marvel is fully committed to it. For now, there’s not much more information available about its release.

Feige clarified, “We’re firmly behind Blade. We adore the character and Mahershala’s portrayal of him. We always keep our audience informed about project changes or scheduling issues. As for now, you’re all caught up on what’s going on. However, I can assure you that the character will definitely appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We’re eagerly anticipating that Marvel Studios is as dedicated to the Blade project as they appear to be… And we can only hope that the upcoming film will find the perfect path to bring Mahershala Ali’s portrayal of this character to our movie screens. If not, it seems the prediction in Deadpool & Wolverine might come true.
