As a die-hard Ice Age fan who has grown up with Manny, Sid, and their prehistoric pals, this news about Ice Age 6 feels like Christmas came early! I still remember the first time I watched Ice Age, snuggled under my blanket, my heart pounding with excitement as I followed Manny’s journey. The series has been a constant companion throughout my life, and it seems that our friendship is about to continue for another six chapters!
It’s time to pull out your blankets because an Ice Age film sequel is on its way! Indeed, the latest addition to the beloved cold-weather movie franchise was unveiled at the D23 Brazil event just recently.
Almost three years have passed since Disney closed Blue Sky Studios, the creative powerhouse responsible for producing every Ice Age film and numerous other outstanding projects. This recent news is incredibly thrilling!
At the grand unveiling, a captivating sneak peek was shown that left many astonished, since three well-known voices from all past Ice Age films appeared in the short video.
Initially appearing on-screen, delivering a shock to viewers, it was none other than Ray Romano who greeted us all, hinting at some major news he was about to disclose.
If you’re unaware, Romano provides the voice for one of the main characters in the Ice Age series – the large, shaggy mammoth named Manny.
Romano was found huddled under a blanket, visibly shaking, with a beanie on his head. Later, he commented, “Gosh, it’s freezing in here! Is there a problem with the air conditioning?
Shortly after, Queen Latifah, voicing Ellie the female mammoth, appeared on screen, inquiring if Romano was prepared to reveal the grand surprise to the audience.
While they move towards the news, Romano asks if someone “could turn the heat up?”
With lively tunes playing, Romano excitedly proclaims, “Ice Age 6 will hit the big screen soon!” As snowflakes gently fall within the video frame.
Intriguingly, just like Queen Latifah, we notice her hand movements accompanied by a cheerful “There we go!”. As frost begins to appear on the screen, we spot the timeless typography of Ice Age, with Ray Romano tracing the number ‘6’ using his finger.
Actually, the video doesn’t conclude like that. Instead, towards the end, John Leguizamo appears in a teaser, seeming cheerful and brimming with excitement about the announcement.
As the voice behind the adorable ground sloth, Sid, in the film, I’m thrilled to announce that the entire herd has returned! Now, it’s time for me to reach out to every friend and family member I can find, spreading the exciting news!
According to Entertainment Weekly’s report, the upcoming film is set to feature Denis Leary lending his voice to Diego, the fearsome sabertoothed tiger, and Simon Pegg voicing the daring weasel named Buck.
2016 saw the release of the last Ice Age film, titled “Ice Age: Collision Course.” According to the trailer, the next installment is set to hit theaters in 2026.
