In a surprising turn of events, Ironheart not only stepped into the shoes left by the brilliant scientist in an armored suit but also marked the conclusion of a whole phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It’s astonishing to think that a significant phase of the MCU came and went without much notice. However, it seems unlikely that the same will happen with the upcoming era of Marvel stories. This new phase promises to be monumental, commencing and concluding with two highly anticipated additions to the series. What transpires in between? Let’s explore what’s on the horizon for Phase 6 of the MCU.

CONFIRMED WITH RELEASE DATES
The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25, 2025)
The original Marvel family is set to make their appearance in the film initiating MCU Phase 6, titled “The Fantastic Four: Initial Strides“. As hinted in “Thunderbolts*“, this powerful team is fated to materialize on Earth-616, and once they do, they’re planning to stay put.
Eyes of Wakanda (August 27, 2025)
In Wakanda, the Black Panther isn’t the only hero; this upcoming Disney+ animated series will present a host of other courageous fighters who have defended the nation throughout history. The show follows these warriors as they venture across the globe to retrieve Vibranium artifacts that were stolen by their numerous enemies.
Marvel Zombies (October 3, 2025)
This year, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is embracing Halloween vibes with a new Disney+ animated series called Marvel Zombies. Although zombies have been featured in the franchise before, notably on What If…?, Phase 6 will introduce a dedicated standalone show focusing on these undead characters.
Wonder Man (December 2025)
Following two animated productions, Marvel is set to round off the year with a live-action television series. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been cast as Simon Williams, a talented actor who possesses extraordinary abilities and hides a secret of equal intrigue. The show promises to be an enjoyable watch, especially considering that Ben Kingsley will reappear in his MCU role as the notorious stage actor, Trevor Slattery.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 (March 2026)
Fans won’t have to wait much longer until they can enjoy the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again.” Marvel Studios announced its production before the first season was even completed. Although plans can sometimes shift with the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s release calendar, as of now, the Disney+ series is projected to premiere in 2026.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31, 2026)
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Peter Parker is not remembered by anyone, yet Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, the webbed hero, remains vivid in the minds of viewers. He will reappear during Phase 6 in a fresh start for the character titled Spider-Man: A Fresh Start, signifying a new chapter after the conclusion of his Home Trilogy.
Avengers: Doomsday (December 18, 2026)
Robert Downey Jr., who last appeared as a hero in the MCU’s Endgame, is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this time he’ll be portraying one of Marvel Comics’ most famous villains, Victor von Doom. In the upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday, Robert Downey Jr. will go up against superheroes from multiple universes in a cast filled with stars.
Avengers: Secret Wars (December 17, 2027)
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) plans to wrap up this phase of its franchise by the end of 2027, with the final Phase 6 Avengers movie, “Secret Wars.” This finale is anticipated to feature one of the largest and most spectacular films in the MCU’s history as it ties up the storyline of Doctor Doom.
CONFIRMED WITHOUT AN OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE
The Punisher Special (2026)
Jon Bernthal’s character as the vigilante first officially appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe on a Disney+ series alongside the Defenders, titled “Daredevil: Born Again.” Besides featuring in “Spider-Man: Fresh Start,” Bernthal is currently penning a standalone “The Punisher” special. This is set to release in 2026.
Vision Quest
Discussions about a spinoff series featuring Vision have been ongoing ever since Wanda liberated Westview from her enchantment in 2021. It is now rumored that in 2026, he will officially star in his own show, tentatively titled “Vision Quest.” (Note: This should not be confused with the sports movie of the same name starring Matthew Modine.)
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 (2026/27)
The Disney+ animated series is set to come back for another season, yet it’s uncertain if this will arrive on the streaming platform by 2026 or possibly as late as 2027. Previously, Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum expressed a desire for a new season each year, but in animation, there tends to be a longer wait between the first and second seasons compared to subsequent ones.

MAYBE A PHASE 6 ADDITION??!?!
Armor Wars
Did you recall our discussion about the upcoming Armor Wars series? If not, let me refresh your memory. Regardless, Marvel.com still has an official logo and page for it, suggesting that we might catch a glimpse of it in Phase 6. Although it’s uncertain, it’s at least a possibility worth considering.
Black Panther 3
It’s officially confirmed that there will be a third installment of Black Panther, with Kevin Feige announcing this at the end of 2024. Notably, director Ryan Coogler is crafting a role tailored for Denzel Washington. However, we don’t know yet when filming will start or when it might hit theaters. If it manages to release before the end of 2027, it would be included in Phase 6 of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
MCU PROJECTS THAT ARE PROBABLY PHASE 7
Shang-Chi 2 and Doctor Strange 3
After several years of being overlooked, Marvel Studios demonstrated that they hadn’t forgotten about Simu Liu’s superhero character by announcing his appearance in the upcoming film Doomsday. This should pave the way for a sequel to Shang-Chi, although it seems that we might have to wait until Phase 7 before seeing it, alongside other projects like an X-Men movie and another installment of Doctor Strange.
LOL, WHO KNOWS??
Blade
Ha. Blade. At this rate Blade will be lucky to be part of Phase 16.
Pardon the reference to “Blade”, but we’ll hold off on speculating about what might occur in Phase 16 until Marvel finishes their Phase 6 productions first.
