A Killer Hippo Horror Movie Titled ‘Hungry’ Is Officially in the Works

As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast with a soft spot for wild animal survival thrillers, I must say the upcoming film “Hungry” has piqued my interest. With James Nunn at the helm and a talented team behind it, this movie promises to be an edge-of-your-seat experience that combines suspenseful storytelling with breathtaking visual effects.

The suspenseful survival film, titled “Hungry“, distributed by Signature Entertainment, revolves around a dangerous encounter between a pack of tourists and an aggressive hippo. This movie is helmed by James Nunn, famed for the action-packed series “One Shot“. Filming for this thrilling adventure has commenced on the island of Malta.

In this project, Nunn penned the screenplay, while Ben Jacques, who has previously produced “One More Shot” and “The Hatton Garden Job,” is taking on the role of producer for Signature. Marc Goldberg, CEO of Signature, along with Sarah Gabriel, head of production who has worked on “Riff Raff” and “The Estate,” are serving as executive producers.

A band of travelers becomes stranded in the vast Louisiana wetlands, encountering a dangerous rogue hippo that threatens their very existence as they struggle to endure and escape.

Previously, Signature has sealed distribution agreements with Acontracorriente in Spain, CDC across Latin America, Phoenicia within the Middle East, Daro in Eastern Europe, Garsu Pasaulio Irasai in the Baltics, and Shoval in Israel. Additionally, rights have been procured for the territories of India (Lionsgate Play), Malaysia and Singapore (Suraya), Thailand (Sahamongkol), the Philippines (Pioneer), Turkey (Tanweer), Mongolia (FilmBridge), and CIS (Exponenta).

The project includes talented artists like award-winning MUFX designer Dan Martin (The Banshees of Inisherin, Possessor, Infinity Pool) and Magic Dust VFX (True Detective: Night Country, One Piece), who will help bring the film’s hippo to life.
