As a dedicated fan who has followed Tyka Nelson‘s music journey since the 80s, I am deeply saddened by the news of her passing. Her unique voice and captivating performances have been a constant source of inspiration for me, and her absence leaves a void that can never truly be filled.

64-year-old Tyka Nelson has sadly passed away. The exact cause of her demise remains undisclosed, but her son, President Nelson, announced the sad news through various media outlets on Monday. It is known that Nelson had been ill for several months prior to her death. Additionally, Charles “Chazz” Smith, her cousin, shared the unfortunate news on his Facebook page.

In his social post, Tyka Evene Nelson’s cousin expressed that our family is deeply sorrowful due to the recent passing of Tyka. He conveyed this message saying, “We are deeply saddened to announce the unfortunate demise of my cousin, Tyka Evene Nelson, who passed away this morning.” Tyka’s sibling, Sharon Nelson, also expressed in public forums that the late musician was independent-minded and has now found peace.

Based on news accounts, the departed artist had to miss her goodbye performance because of health issues. This show was set to take place in Dakota, with Nelson scheduled to entertain for several hours. Unfortunately, she pulled out of the event just before it started.

In 2018, I had the privilege of performing at an Australian concert, marking my return to the stage after nearly three decades. Among the songs I sang were some of my most popular hits, originally released on my albums from 1988 and 2011.

Beyond relatives and musicians in the music world expressing sorrow over Nelson’s passing, her admirers also utilized their social media platforms to honor the late End of the Road singer.

One user shared, “Just hearing that Tyka Nelson, sister of music legend Prince, has passed away. Our hearts are with her family during this difficult time. Please respect their privacy as they mourn.”

Another fan wrote, “Rest in peace to Tyka. Our hearts are with the entire Prince family.”

Nelson had a successful career in the music industry, releasing four hit albums in the early 2000s.

Tyka Nelson’s brother, famously known as pop icon Prince, was highly respected within the entertainment industry. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2016. Initially, the reason for Prince’s death remained a mystery, but later it was disclosed that an overdose of fentanyl contributed to his untimely demise.

Nelson is survived by her siblings, husband, and two sons.
