‘Twisted Metal’ Season 2 Wraps Up Filming, Reveals New Images

As a die-hard fan of the original Twisted Metal video games and a connoisseur of post-apocalyptic mayhem, I can confidently say that the upcoming second season of Peacock’s adaptation has me more than just a little excited! The first season was a rollercoaster ride of action, comedy, and over-the-top violence that perfectly captured the essence of the source material. With the confirmation that filming for Season 2 has wrapped up, I can hardly contain my anticipation for what’s to come.

A fun and chaotic display of cartoonish violence, ‘Twisted Metal’ occasionally falters in developing its original content, yet manages to deliver an adaptation with unexpected layers.

We’ve already announced that there will be a second season, and I’m excited to share that filming has wrapped up and post-production is now underway. This indicates that the second season should be airing soon, though an exact release date hasn’t been set yet, but keep an eye out for it in 2025!

Michael Jonathan Smith, the showrunner, posted details and exclusive behind-the-scenes snaps on social media as they wrapped up filming for the new season of our series. Here, we’ll give you a rundown of everything you should know about the upcoming chapter of this popular show.

The “Twisted Metal” game series is recognized for being a part of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s well-liked vehicle combat video game collection. It is famous for its lively characters and intense action sequences.

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but be blown away by how the Peacock series effectively brings elements from the game world to life on-screen. This is probably why it garnered such positive responses following its debut season.

The show was created by writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who also served as showrunner alongside Smith. It features Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, and Thomas Haden Church in leading roles. Notable actors like Neve Campbell or Jason Mantzoukas make appearances in recurring or guest parts. In a nutshell, the storyline goes as follows:

“TWISTED METAL is a live-action TV series lasting half an hour, modeled after the popular PlayStation game franchise. It’s a fast-paced action comedy about an outcast with a big mouth who gets a shot at a better life, but he must first deliver a secret package across a devastated landscape. Along the way, he’ll team up with a tough car thief and confront dangerous adversaries driving machines of destruction, as well as other perils on the open road, such as a menacing clown who drives an ominous ice cream truck.

The initial season comprised ten episodes, and it’s officially verified that the second season was filmed, as Smith announced on his Instagram account, sharing behind-the-scenes images from the production.
