As a seasoned veteran of the world of Brown Dust, I must say that Seir, the Demon’s Daughter, is a formidable addition to any team. Her defensive prowess and unique abilities make her an ideal tank for both PvE and PvP scenarios.
Seir is a Magic Dark Tank with massive amounts of damage reduction and self-healing, which combined makes her able to mitigate most damage in the game. She is also able to grant utility when she is hit, such as SP and DMG buffs.

Strengths and Weaknesses
The new employee’s damage boost is ideal for extended content with enemies that attack frequently.
In PvP, Seir’s ability to reduce damage is converted into fixed and non-elemental damage. This can be offset by the energy guard of a B-Rank Idol. However, Seir may not perform as well as other tanks due to her lack of elemental resistance and vulnerability to Justia.
Costumes
At the moment, Seir owns three outfits. Each outfit provides an effect when Seir gets hit. The Demon’s Daughter costume restores her health, the B-Rank Idol outfit increases SP, and the New Hire outfit adds a stackable physical attack boost. Additionally, her first two costumes include defense reduction effects as well.

Demon’s Daughter is recruitable in the pub’s rotating pool, and in Infinite Reroll.
This costume gives Seir a hefty damage reduction buff. At +0, the 40% reduction nearly doubles her health, but once she’s upgraded, she can nearly multiply her health effectively ten-fold (with a total of 85% damage reduction). Damage reduction stacks multiplicatively with DEF and MRES, so Seir will pretty much be taking double digit damage at this point. More importantly, this damage reduction protects Seir from DEF and MRES shredding enemies that can still kill your units with 90 RES.
As a gamer, I’ve got to say, Seir packs a unique ability: self-healing when struck. Pair that with her damage reduction, and it’s like Seir is a walking, talking invincibility shield – provided she doesn’t take one massive hit, like from fixed or pure damage.
In terms of upgrades, the most important one is skill potential 3, which gives Seir the ability to taunt enemies. This is important for protecting her allies, as well as enabling her to trigger her other skills’ effects. The SP upgrades can reduce her skill cost to 2 SP, making it the cheapest taunt in the game. The DMG Reduction is busted at 85%, but 65% should be comfortable enough for her (+1 with Skill Potential 2).
At level 5, Seir receives an enhancement for her healing multiplier and buff duration. Yet, in this game, heals critically strike, so a 15% increase is already considerable given her damage reduction. Moreover, the extended buff duration doesn’t affect her taunt ability. Therefore, while it’s beneficial, B-Rank Idol can compensate for the gap to ensure continuous damage reduction uptime for Seir.
Key Upgrades: Skill Potential 3, SP Upgrades, Damage Reduction upgrades scale really well.

An idol of B-rank offers Seir a damage reduction of 40% to 85%, which means the points mentioned in “Demon’s Daughter” can be applied to this situation as well.
In addition, it should be noted that this skill has a limited application due to its specialized nature. It often takes a back seat to her other more crucial skills, as generating Special Points (SP) is not an essential aspect in many types of content. However, the primary scenario where this effect proves useful is when dealing with enemies that drain SP. This advantage comes into play only if you are unable to defeat those enemies for some unavoidable reason.
Conversely, the Energy Shield from Skill Potential Level 3 can counteract one of Seir’s disadvantages – her susceptibility to fixed and pure damage. This additional shield could provide up to an extra 20,000 HP, enhancing her ability to withstand such attacks.
Key Upgrades: Skill Potential 3, Damage Reduction scales really well.

This particular costume belonging to Seir is crucial as it’s the only one that enhances your team’s damage output significantly. Building Seir without this costume is generally not advisable, or at least not very beneficial.
In longer battles, particularly during Fiend Hunts and Guild Raids where enemies launch multiple attacks, Seir stands out as an exceptional buffer due to her stackable buff effect. Once she is hit at least five times (or seven times if she’s +2), her effectiveness multiplies significantly, making her a highly beneficial ally in these situations. The more hits she takes, the greater her impact becomes.
Do keep in mind that Seir does not want to be dispelled, or she’ll lose her ability to grant buffs.

Building Seir
You’ll need to build Seir defensively if you want her to be able to take hits to buff the team.

Either Demon’s Daughter or B-Rank Idol are great for Seir, since their stats are fully defensive. However, do keep in mind that some of Demon’s Daughter’s DEF bonds are locked behind a tear upgrade.

In this game, tailor your construction of either Defense Fortification (DEF) or Mana Resistance Shield (MRES), based on the opponents you’re up against. Remember, critical hits trigger healing effects in this game, so equip Seir with a crit rate-boosting accessory and gloves to enhance her abilities.
