Why Wanda Was Absent in ‘Agatha All Along’: The Obvious Answer

As a seasoned gamer who’s been following the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its inception, I must say that “Agatha All Along” was a delightful ride, albeit one that left me yearning for more Scarlet Witch involvement. However, I understand the creative decisions behind her absence, given that this show was all about Agatha’s journey.

Just finished airing, Agatha All Along concluded its run with the final two episodes. The conclusion was a mix of joy and sadness as it wrapped up certain character arcs while hinting at potential future appearances within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

This show stands out among Marvel Cinematic Universe productions, as it skillfully weaves in numerous enigmas, hidden gems, and nods to familiar elements, along with an array of characters and concepts. It also delves deeply into the mystical and supernatural aspects of the MCU in a visually stunning manner.

Yet, one key aspect that some spectators anticipated was missing from the show. With Agatha and Billy sharing ties with Scarlet Witch, viewers had wished for Wanda to make an appearance, either subtly hidden as a cameo or more overtly represented as an Easter egg.

Initially, it appeared doubtful that Scarlet Witch was alive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, her status has been more accurately described as deceased, though not officially confirmed. Characters have never definitively stated she is gone, leaving room for speculation. This unresolved issue is a significant enigma within the MCU, and it’s likely that the studio intends to exploit this mystery in a future film.

There’s been quite a buzz suggesting that the Scarlet Witch may reappear with a significant part in future Multiverse ventures. Given that she might be getting her own movie, it wouldn’t be logical to anticipate her being featured in Agatha All Along.

It’s worth noting that Schaeffer, the showrunner, explicitly stated from the start that Scarlet Witch wouldn’t feature in the series. This decision was primarily made because the narrative focuses on Agatha’s tale instead.

“There was much thought given to the situation. It’s important to note that Agatha is a strong and independent character who won’t shy away from taking center stage.

In essence, “Agatha Harkness” takes center stage in this production, but since we’re delving into the realm of “WandaVision”, elements related to Wanda’s heritage are woven into the storyline. Nevertheless, the main theme revolves around Agatha, her voyage, and uncovering the truth about her, which is the primary focus of our show.

Adding Scarlet Witch to the series might detract from Agatha’s narrative, given that the show is a continuation of “WandaVision,” but there remains an abundance of untold stories about Agatha that need exploration.

To ensure that every character receives adequate focus for development and conclusion of their individual storylines, it’s not feasible to incorporate a significant figure like Scarlet Witch at this moment. Moreover, given that Billy is currently pursuing a fresh objective – locating his missing brother – it might be premature to reintroduce Scarlet Witch.

It’s been hinted that Scarlet Witch might make a comeback, either in her own series or possibly in the anticipated “Children’s Crusade” plotline. Her potential first appearance could be as early as a cameo in an upcoming TV show centered around White Vision. This show is believed to be one of a trilogy that also includes “WandaVision” and “Agatha All Along”.
