In an amusing turn of events, it’s clear that Olivia Rodrigo had quite a peculiar encounter with the law for the first time, all due to a case of mistaken identity. The entertainer shared this light-hearted anecdote during her latest interview.

The singer who finished her Guts World Tour in October made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, to publicize the movie of her tour that began streaming on Netflix on October 29th.

Rodrigo shared with Fallon, “For the first time in my life, I found myself in legal trouble.” The singer responded, “We were heading from Canada towards Portland or somewhere similar.” She explained that at border control, she handed over her passport, and after checking it, they simply said, “Alright, whatever.” Then there was a knock on the door and they requested Olivia.

The lead singer of Driver’s License believed someone called her name might have been her daughter asking for an autograph. Later, she informed Fallon that it was past 3 in the morning, and she stumbled out, feeling delirious. She was subsequently led to an interrogation room where a large officer, armed with a gun, was present.

Officer inquired if Rodrigo had ever been arrested before, to which she responded that she hadn’t. He then questioned whether she was certain about this. The celebrity admitted that she had tricked herself into believing that she might have been arrested and had simply forgotten the incident.

The singer disclosed to Fallon that the police officer had informed her that false statements made to a federal agent could result in incarceration, causing her great alarm. She also shared that she panicked and believed she might be denied entry into the United States, leading to fear and an episode of intense anxiety.

In a turn of events, the singer referred to as ‘The Traitor’ revealed that during a 30-minute questioning session, the officer inquired about her identity, to which she responded by providing both her given and surnames, clearly enunciating the latter for clarity.
