As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent in the realm of Brown Dust 2, I must say that the latest addition to our roster, Seir, has certainly piqued my interest. Having played through countless fiend hunts and guild raids, I can see the potential this character holds for specific battles.

+ One of the few costumes that boosts team damage (not ATK/M.ATK)
+ Very high buff potential against enemies with high hit count
+ Long lasting buff with potential upgrade
As a dedicated player, I excel particularly in prolonged battles, especially when facing opponents with a high number of attacks, such as specific fiend hunts or guild raids.
- Seir’s other costumes are rarely used in fiend and guild raids
To tease Seri, you need to have her default outfit and enhance it with upgrades.
Seir for PVE
In a fresh addition to game dynamics, the newest team member, Seir, enhances your squad’s attack potential whenever she takes a hit. To maximize her effectiveness, it’s best if she encounters enemies capable of dealing multiple blows. She thrives in extended battles as she provides no initial boost but gradually amplifies the benefits with each successive hit. Essentially, Seir is optimized for fiend hunts and guild raids against bosses with high strike counts. Her power escalation over time aligns perfectly with the playstyle of these game modes, as the most damaging turns often occur late in battle, coinciding with Seir’s peak performance.
While New Hire Seir excels in specific types of combat, it’s important to note that not all enemies and guild leaders will consistently have high hit-count attacks. Additionally, the skills of guild bosses are randomly varied, making it somewhat luck-based to land on a high hit-count skill. In fights other than fiend hunts or guild raids, having a buffer character like New Hire Seir who can’t buff on the first turn might not be ideal as you wouldn’t want to waste a team slot on a character that doesn’t contribute immediately.
In essence, Seir performs optimally against opponents who launch attacks frequently and deliver at least five strikes per turn. To be considered effective, she needs to take five hits cumulatively. However, if she’s hit ten times or more, she becomes exceptionally powerful compared to other buffer characters.
- At +5 full potential, 5 hits on Seir means 110% damage amplification. This is roughly on par with the AOE damage amplification power of Game Club Rafina (100% physical damage amplification) or Track and Field Captain Levia (100-120% magic damage amplification), though Seir has the advantage of having a longer buff duration of 6 turns.
- At +5 full potential, 9 hits on Seir means 198% damage amplification. This is roughly on par with Beachside Angel Teresse (200% damage amplification for enemies with up to 5 chain stacks), one of the strongest damage amplifiers in the game.
Note that investment into potential upgrades is required to keep Seir’s buff up continuously (skill cooldown from 7 turns to 5 turns).
As a gamer, I’ve found that Seir works exceptionally well with allies who retaliate, like Android Queen Lecliss and Desert Flower Sylvia. When an opponent manages to strike both Seir and the counterattacker in the same move, our counterattacks become progressively more potent due to Seir’s boost.
In summary, one attractive benefit of utilizing Seir is the ability to pair her with her B-Rank Idol costume. This outfit automatically refills SP when Seir gets attacked. This feature can prove beneficial in extended fights, especially during situations where SP regeneration is limited.
Seir for PVP
According to the Demon’s Daughter Seir manual, Seir isn’t considered a great choice for player-versus-player (PVP) combat. In the present game environment, it’s challenging to find success with a purely defensive tank character, especially one that is dark-element and vulnerable to Justia. Additionally, Seir’s buffing ability pales in comparison to Android Queen Lecliss, who can turn games around with her counterattack alone.
Conclusion
Despite being somewhat specialized, Seir might become essential for achieving high scores in certain fiends and guild raid bosses with numerous attack sequences. However, she may not be worth the investment for novice and intermediate players as it’s more advantageous to focus on popular buffer characters like AOTU.Diana and B-Rank Helena, who are useful across various game modes.
For seasoned gamers who’ve optimized their other top-tier buffs, New Hire Seir presents a chance to amplify your damage and potentially set record-breaking scores during select Fiend Hunt and Guild Raid events.
