With a background in survival horror games and a soft spot for classic monsters, this new attraction promises to be an immersive, heart-pounding experience that will transport me straight into the world of Frankenstein, Dracula, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and The Wolf Man.

A darkness is coming to Orlando. Next year Universal Orlando Resort will open its most immersive theme park ever, Universal Epic Universe. Its five areas will include a Dark Universe World where classic monsters will metaphorically come to life. Only, it won’t seem metaphorical. Universal Orlando has shared first-look images of the terrifying animatronics guests will encounter on its “Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment” ride. And if you didn’t know they were world-class robots you’d be running in terror for real.

This new short video from Universal Orlando Resort features insight from the team behind Epic Universe’s Dark World. But the real stars of the video are the chill-inducing animatronics that riders will meet on one of the amusement park’s signature attractions. “The Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment” ride will include 14 animatronics of famous Universal Monsters. Universal Orlando Resort calls them the “most ambitious and life-like animated figures ever created.”

This video provides convincing evidence for the description, showcasing prototypes of Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and The Wolf Man animatronics from Universal Epic Universe’s Dark Universe in The Monsters Unchained ride. As advertised, these animatronics boast cutting-edge technology, delivering a powerful, intense, and swift experience, making it easy to understand why Universal Epic Universe touts the ride as its “scariest attraction yet.

What makes this new ride at Universal Epic Universe special is that it immerses guests in an experimental lab overseen by a relative of a infamous scientist. According to the official description, the ride will feature numerous terrifying animatronics appearing together.

Title Transformation: “Monsters Unleashed: The Frankenstein Legacy” invites visitors to venture into the eerie depths of Frankenstein Manor, where Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, a descendant of the notorious Henry Frankenstein, carries on her macabre and misguided research. In an attempt to showcase her brilliance, she offers guests a peek at her power over monsters; however, chaos ensues when the enraged creatures break free from their confines. Visitors are then thrust into a heart-pounding journey through the shadows, desperately attempting to avoid encounters with Dracula, The Wolf Man, The Creature from the Black Lagoon and others.

For those who aren’t daring enough to venture into those catacombs, they can still get a close look at these monstrous creatures. The attraction in Universal Orlando allows guests to interact with these animatronics and even take pictures with the terrifying Monsters from the Dark Universe. Additionally, visitors will come across other iconic characters from Universal’s Dark Universe scattered throughout the park.
