New Jumanji Film Confirmed By Sony To Release On THIS Date; Learn About Cast And More

As a child of the ’90s, I can’t help but feel a rush of nostalgia with Sony announcing Jumanji 3! I remember watching the original movie starring Robin Williams and feeling utterly captivated by the magical world it portrayed. Fast forward to 2017, when the reboot came along and blew us all away with its modern twist. Now, four years later, we’re getting another installment in this beloved franchise! I’ve been following these films closely since their inception, and it’s truly exciting to see how they continue to evolve.

Sony has confirmed that there will be a new installment of the beloved and nostalgic adventure film, Jumanji. This exciting news follows the announcement of two more epic movies from them.

As an over-the-moon Spider-Man fan here, Sony’s been dropping bombshells left and right recently! The shockwave from their announcement about a fourth Marvel Cinematic Universe Spidey adventure still echoes, not to mention the tantalizing teaser for Karate Kid: Legends. But wait, there’s more! To really ramp up the excitement, they dropped a bombshell on Monday – the release date for Jumanji 3! Sony, you are truly keeping us on our toes!

On December 11, 2026, the third film in the latest Jumanji series will hit theaters. For those unaware, this upcoming movie is actually the fourth overall installment in the original franchise, but it’s the third one for the Jumanji series starring Dwayne Johnson.

In 1995, the very first film titled “Jumanji” hit the screens with an impressive ensemble of actors including Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pierce, and Jonathan Hyde.

Starting from 2017, the revamped film series kicked off with the release of “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” on December 20th, and this was followed by another installment titled “Jumanji: The Next Level,” which hit the screens in 2019.

According to sources, Sony is negotiating with Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black about reprising their roles in the upcoming Jumanji film.

2017’s revamped Jumanji had me hooked! Instead of the classic board game, it was transformed into a captivating video game that drew in the teens. There were five main characters: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the daring archaeologist Dr. Xander “Smolder” Bravestone, Kevin Hart as the quick-witted zoologist Franklin “Mouse” Finbar, Karen Gillan portrayed the agile commando Ruby Roundhouse, and Jack Black brought humor to Professor Sheldon “Shelly” Oberon. The fifth character, revealed later in the game, was none other than Nick Jonas as Jefferson!

In addition to the four main stars, the film also featured Alex Wolf, Madison Iseman, Ser’Darius Blain, Bobby Cannavale, and Morgan Turner in the initial rebooted version.

Along with the actors, Sony even announced that Jake Kasdan will be directing the 2026 film.

As I mentioned earlier, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be gracing the screen this festive season in Red One, a heartwarming holiday movie slated for release on November 15th.

Spider-Man 4 will be released in Summer 2026, while Karate Kid: Legends will be released in 2025.
