His beloved daughter, Davina Harris, confirmed the unfortunate news, revealing that he had bravely fought cancer until the very end. At 75 years old, his legacy will continue to shine brightly in our hearts and minds.
Discussing his renowned characters, Harris appeared in numerous films, ranging from Dish Dogs to Fatal Beauty. However, it was his performance in the 1979 classic, The Warriors, that earned him the most acclaim.
In the movie mentioned earlier, Harris portrayed the character of Cochise, a gang member. This film, titled after Sol Yurick’s 1965 novel of the same name, narrates the story of the named gang who are wrongly accused of murder. The narrative unfolds as they navigate their arduous journey back to Coney Island, encountering numerous street gangs intent on hunting them down.
In the movies, the groups such as “The Baseball Furies,” “The Lizzies,” “The Orphans,” and “The Rouges” stood out as one of the most captivating elements. The viewers admired these gangs for their vibrant and imaginative subculture.
