The idea for Lizzo’s costume stemmed from an episode titled South Park: The End of Obesity, which aired in May. The show took a lighthearted jab at the trend of using weight-loss medications, spoofing Ozempic with a fictional product called Lizzo.
In the show’s episode, characters debate that Lizzo serves as an affordable substitute for costly medications such as Ozempic for weight loss. Rather than concentrating on physical weight reduction, this fictional medication promotes self-acceptance, providing individuals a guilt-free means to embrace their bodies confidently.
Immediately following the broadcast, the singer responded to the incident by posting a humorous take on it via a live video on social platforms, where she chuckled and remarked, “That’s wild!” She found it astonishing that her impact extended as far as the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

In the classic South Park series, an episode was designed as a humorous critique of the escalating trend in weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic and Mounjaro. Within this show, a fictional advertisement for Lizzo suggested that it offers the benefits of boosting self-confidence related to one’s weight, all while being priced at 90% less than Ozempic.
In a playful manner, the episode showcased a hypothetical drug that enabled people to consume vast quantities of food without needing much exercise.
