As a survivor of domestic abuse myself, I cannot help but feel a deep sense of empathy and anger when reading about the stories of Jane Doe and Liziane Gutierrez in the Chris Brown: A History of Violence documentary. The pattern of manipulation, coercion, and violence that these women have experienced at the hands of Chris Brown is all too familiar to me.

In an attempt to shed light on the troubling aspects of the entertainment industry, ID Television is airing Chris Brown: A Chronicle of Violence, a documentary featuring various women who allege they were victims of the R&B artist. One such woman, known as Jane Doe, accuses Brown of raping her in 2020. However, his legal team has rejected these claims presented in the show.

According to the documentary, Doe claims that the reported event transpired in 2020, a year when she had recently relocated to Los Angeles with dreams of a dancing career. Towards the end of that year, she made a trip to Miami and received an invitation from someone familiar to her for a yacht party hosted by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

At the party’s entrance, Doe found Brown, aged 35, present, which she interpreted as a potential “indication” that he could potentially “offer assistance, direction, or advice,” she asserted. They conversed, and he offered her a beverage. Subsequently, Doe’s recollection of events began to blur after accepting the drink from Brown, as detailed in the documentary.

As reported by People, Doe claims she can’t recall whether she witnessed him adding it, but she consumed the drink anyway. Subsequently, she accepted another round, following which she started feeling fatigued and her body became heavier.

In the documentary, Brown’s attorneys denounced Doe’s claims as fabricated, the outlet reports.

According to Doe, Brown allegedly led her to a bedroom and left her immobilized. She recalls, with tears in her voice, that the next thing she knew was him on top of her. She asserted that she said “no,” but it seemed like her words were unheard as Brown persisted with his actions. Doe claims that the artist behind Look at Me Now reportedly ejaculated within her. “I felt so repulsed,” she expressed.

Following the questionable event, Doe mentioned in the documentary that she kept talking with Brown for more understanding. Yet, it wasn’t until therapy sessions that she recognized the act as rape.

As reported by People, legal representatives approached her initially to construct a case, however, a judge eventually discarded this attempt in 2022 due to insufficient evidence or prosecution. Consequently, she was released by her attorneys primarily due to the revealing conversations she had with Brown that were previously mentioned.

Nonetheless, it’s worth noting that Ariel Mitchell-Kidd, one of Doe’s attorneys, has taken on the case once more. In a conversation with People, Mitchell-Kidd expressed complete conviction in the truth of her client’s assertions.

In another part of the documentary, a woman named Liziane Gutierrez describes an incident with Brown that took place in 2016. She asserts that after one of his performances in Las Vegas, she was invited to his hotel room where, according to her, he struck her in the face. Following this alleged assault, it is claimed that his team escorted her out of the room.

Gutierrez sued Brown in 2016, and the pair settled the case privately in 2017, according to TMZ.
