This exponential growth in data necessitates a paradigm shift in how automotive engineers approach design optimization, moving beyond manual review of simulation results towards automated, data-driven insights.

Graph attention networks, when applied to the classification of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) mode shapes and utilizing the BiW Regional Skeleton for structural representation, have demonstrated high performance in identifying vibrational characteristics. Evaluation on multi-vehicle test sets yielded an accuracy of 98.7%, indicating robust generalization across different vehicle designs. These R² values indicate that approximately 98.9% and 98.5% of the variance in pressure and wall shear stress, respectively, can be explained by the model, signifying a high degree of predictive accuracy for these critical aerodynamic parameters.
Evaluation using the DrivAer dataset, a publicly available benchmark for aerodynamic simulation validation, demonstrates the practical applicability of this approach in a realistic automotive context. This dataset comprises high-fidelity Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations for multiple vehicle configurations at varying yaw angles. Performance metrics derived from comparison with DrivAer data confirm the predictive capability of the graph-based methodology, establishing its effectiveness beyond controlled synthetic environments and validating its potential for real-world automotive engineering applications.

By prioritizing physical consistency, the methodology not only boosts the reliability of predictions but also reduces the need for extensive validation against empirical data, ultimately streamlining the design and optimization process.
