Chiwetel Ejiofor Highlights Key Differences Between His Roles in ‘Venom’ and the MCU

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for Marvel films, I must say that Chiwetel Ejiofor has truly outdone himself this time around. The transformation from the enigmatic Baron Mordo to the methodical General Strickland is nothing short of mesmerizing.

Chiwetel Ejiofor is gradually making a mark in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films, with his portrayal of Baron Mordo in “Doctor Strange”. This month, he switches from the MCU to another universe, taking on the role of General Strickland in “Venom: The Last Dance”.

Before the movie hits theaters this weekend, I had a chat with Chiwetel Ejiofor about the differences between my two major Marvel characters he plays:

Essentially, what sets General Strickland apart is his meticulous nature, sense of duty, and earthy demeanor. His world is rooted in reality, with an emphasis on maintaining order within a highly confidential military installation that carries immense importance for him personally.

Through various aspects, Dr. Payne’s scientific team has added complexity to his life. This leads to a tense disagreement over the optimal course of action regarding these extraterrestrial beings. The intrigue and enjoyment of navigating these interpersonal dynamics while working alongside Juno [Temple] was noteworthy and entertaining.

It’s challenging to imagine a shared link between Mordo and Strickland given their contrasting personalities. Prior to Ejiofor’s character reveal, there were whispers among Marvel fans suggesting that he might be associated with Mordo or even a disguised variation of him in another realm.
