Jon Bernthal is reprising his role as the Punisher, the famously brutal Marvel character, for a final appearance in 2026. While it’s hard to imagine Frank Castle ever truly retiring from punishing criminals, Marvel and Disney+ are presenting a new special. Titled The Punisher: One Last Kill, it’s set to premiere on Disney+ this May.
We don’t have many details yet about this upcoming presentation, which we expect will last around one to two hours. That’s understandable, as the second season of Daredevil: Born Again hasn’t been released yet, and we might learn more about Frank Castle during that show. Plus, this presentation seems to be setting the stage for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and the Punisher was actually featured in its trailer.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jon Bernthal expressed his passion for the character of Frank Castle and the upcoming special. He said he’s thankful to be able to tell the story fans have been waiting for, and that the team is working incredibly hard. He emphasized that the story won’t be simple or easy to watch, but feels it’s the honest and respectful portrayal the character deserves, and he’s very honored to have the chance to tell it.
