Oh, what a night it was at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert in Miami! As a long-time fan who has witnessed countless performances and collaborations, I can confidently say that this one took the cake. The chemistry between Taylor and Florence Welch during their duet of “Florida” was nothing short of magical. It felt like two old friends sharing a secret only they understood, and the crowd seemed to be right there with them every step of the way.

I had the incredible opportunity to be part of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour kickoff in Miami, Florida. To everyone’s delight, Florence Welch made a surprise appearance on stage, adding an extra dash of magic to the show. As the audience erupted in applause for Welch, we joined forces with Swift to perform “Florida,” a beautiful collaboration from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. It was a moment I’ll never forget!

On this occasion, the British vocalist hadn’t made their initial joint performance with the Grammy-winning artist, but they did share a stage during the Eras Tour concert at the Wembley Stadium in August as well.

After receiving applause from the audience, Welch shared a post on her social media platform expressing gratitude towards the pop legend for allowing her to perform alongside her.

During the performance, the singer of Shake It Out teamed up with Swift on stage. Notable figures like Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, Jenna Bush Hager, Tom Brady, and Serena Williams were among the star-studded audience in the VIP section, taking delight in the show. Later, Kotb, Bush Hager, and Guthrie posted a photo of them enjoying the concert with the playful caption, “SWIFTIES!!!”.

While Swift was releasing her new album TTPD in April, Welch admitted in an interview that during the process of singing on the Florida track with her, she momentarily forgot about her position in the music industry.

She mentioned, “I barely considered its magnitude. On one hand, there’s the immense popularity of Taylor Swift as a cultural phenomenon. On the other, there’s the Taylor I know from the studio, who is nothing but kind and unassuming.

Regarding their collaboration on the song, Welch mentioned that Taylor Swift presented her with a unique idea and narrative. They enjoyed working together on the project, but the real magic occurred upon its release. Excitedly, Welch expressed, “And when it was released, I exclaimed, ‘Wow, this is incredible!’

On the initial evening among the three performances scheduled at the venue, Florence made her appearance. Subsequently, the music legend plans to travel to New Orleans and later to Canada, wrapping up her Eras Tour which commenced in March 2023.
