As a long-time Marvel fan and follower of Tom Holland’s career, I must say it’s quite fascinating to witness his journey from a secret-spilling wall-crawler to a trusted keeper of the MCU’s biggest secrets. It seems that age, or rather the Spider-suit, does indeed bring wisdom!
It’s clear now that Tom Holland is excellent at keeping secrets, as evidenced by his recent chat where he discussed the comeback of Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and even dropped some surprising revelations.
In a recent episode of the Rich Roll podcast, the actor from Cherry disclosed that he was among the select few who knew about Robert Downey Jr.’s upcoming comeback, where he will portray the formidable and potentially malevolent character, Dr. Doom.
Tom Holland had previously learned about the upcoming projects of The Due Date star, long before they were officially unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con in July.
Speaking about Downey a great deal, particularly discussing his comeback in the MCU, which is incredibly thrilling, Holland admitted. Maintaining this secret was difficult for him, he said, because he’s known for spoiling things, and he’s been careful with interviews to avoid doing so.
Throughout his tenure as the studios’ wall-crawler, the actor from “The Devil All The Time” has been consistently leaking significant spoilers about his character and other storylines within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The fame associated with Holland was such that director Joe Russo of Avengers: Endgame didn’t share the entire script with him. Nevertheless, Holland inadvertently disclosed that Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr., meets his end in Avengers: Endgame, a fact he shared on The Graham Norton Show.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: In my experience, even my esteemed co-stars like Benedict Cumberbatch, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, and Pom Klementieff found it necessary to intervene during interviews to curb my overzealous sharing of details about our upcoming projects.
More recently, it’s come to light that Holland has disclosed he read a draft for a fourth Spider-Man film produced by Marvel Studios.
As an utterly smitten fanboy, let me share that my extraordinary co-star and beloved girlfriend, Zendaya, and I, immersed ourselves in the script together. To my sheer excitement, I can confidently say that although there’s still room for improvement, our talented writers are knocking it out of the park. Three weeks ago, I had the privilege of reading this masterpiece, and it ignited a fiery passion within me, pushing me to give my absolute best in every scene!
Robert Downey Jr. will be next seen as Dr. Doom in future Avengers movies.
