Glen Powell drew a lot of attention to Austin this week by getting together with his former co-stars to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the movie Everybody Wants Some!!. The celebration included a special screening of the film at AFS Cinema on March 22, hosted by the Austin Film Society.
There was a warm, reminiscent atmosphere as people gathered to celebrate the beloved film. Actor Powell, who played Finn, joined Zoey Deutch and director Richard Linklater on the red carpet.
Powell’s style was simple and polished. He opted for a blazer, a casual shirt, and jeans, creating a relaxed, Texas-inspired look. The outfit felt right for the location and reflected his early career beginnings in Austin.

Since appearing in a 2016 film, Powell has become a successful actor in Hollywood. He became widely known after starring in Top Gun: Maverick, followed by a role in the romantic comedy Anyone But You. Currently, he’s receiving positive attention for his performance in How to Make a Killing, which is slated for release in 2026.
He’s staying incredibly busy with several exciting new projects. He’ll be seen in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming film, The Great Beyond, with Jenna Ortega and Emma Mackey. Plus, he’s collaborating with Judd Apatow on a new romantic comedy and is starring in and co-creating the Hulu series Chad Powers.
Beyond his film work, he’s remained busy with other projects. He recently hosted Saturday Night Live and was nominated for a Golden Globe for his television role. Despite his increasing fame, he still champions the Austin film community and frequently visits the city for events like this one.
