Lucy Liu, 57, Shows Timeless Look in Latest Photos, 21 Years After ‘Charlie’s Angels’

Lucy Liu is currently filming a new series for Peacock in New York City. Called Superfakes, the project has been reported on by industry sources at Deadline.

The 57-year-old actress was seen on set during filming, during breaks and while shooting scenes outdoors with her co-star, Bohan Phoenix. They filmed in various locations around the city, including a park.

As a film buff, I was really intrigued by the details of this new series. The costumes are very grounded – think simple, layered outfits that feel totally believable for someone living an ordinary life. But the world itself is anything but ordinary! It’s all built around the shadowy business of fake luxury goods, and the story dives into some really compelling themes: crime, the weight of family expectations, and just trying to survive in this secret, underground market. What’s even cooler is that Liu isn’t just starring – she’s also a producer, which tells me she’s deeply invested in bringing this vision to life.

I’m so excited about this new show! I first heard whispers about it back in late 2025, and the premise is fascinating – it follows a woman trying to create a good life for her family while working in the dangerous world of high-end, illegal goods. What really gets me is that Alice Ju is the creative force behind it all, both creating and running the show – I have a lot of faith in her vision!

I’m so excited for everything Simu Liu is doing! Besides the new series he’s in, he’s also going to be in The Devil Wears Prada 2, which comes out in theaters on May 1st. I can’t wait!

She’s building on a successful career that already includes prominent roles in Hollywood. Many people still remember her best from Charlie’s Angels, where she became a popular action star alongside her fellow cast members. That role really shaped how audiences saw her in the early 2000s and remains one of her most famous performances.

After more than twenty years, she continues to work in movies and TV, now often taking on roles that involve producing and other behind-the-scenes work, in addition to acting.
