Nevertheless, their initial blissful period as a couple soon dissipated, leading Billy Ray to file for divorce in May 2024 – only seven months after their wedding. He attributed the breakup to unresolvable disagreements and inappropriate behavior within their marriage. Furthermore, he asked for an annulment based on deceit, alleging that Firerose had racked up a $96,000 bill on his credit card. In response, Cyrus applied for a temporary restraining order to stop her from spending his money unnecessarily.

She responded to his claims in a countersuit, accusing him of subjecting her to “extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse.”

In June, Firerose confided in Page Six that she was taken aback when her separated spouse filed for divorce, claiming he compelled her to leave their shared residence on the very day she was to undergo a double mastectomy surgery.

She additionally shared that Billy enforced extremely stringent guidelines for her, implying he limited her nail appointments to once a month, permitted her visits only to the nearby chiropractor, and wouldn’t let her own a car. “It was a system of isolation, and I lacked the strength to escape,” she sadly admitted.
