As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of comic book movies under my belt, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation when it comes to the rumored return of Bruce Campbell‘s Pizza Poppa in Doctor Strange 3. The man is no stranger to the world of Marvel, having played the iconic Ash Williams in the Evil Dead series. So, when he hints at a thick contract and a deeper significance for his character, my Spidey senses are tingling.

Based on the latest updates, it appears that Marvel Studios is working on Doctor Strange 3. There’s been talk that Sam Raimi might come back to direct, and if true, Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong are expected to resume their roles.

The movie is set to showcase Dormammu, one of Doctor Strange’s most recognized adversaries, and there are whispers that this could connect to the rumors about a more substantial part for Charlize Theron’s character, Clea, in the next edition of the series.

During a recent chat with Variety, Bruce Campbell subtly suggested that a character could reappear, taking on a more expansive part this time. In the upcoming movie “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” Campbell portrays Pizza Poppa, a New York City pizza vendor.

In an unexpected turn of events, Pizza Poppa comes across Doctor Strange and America Chavez. The latter had mistakenly thought that food was complimentary in their realm, so she grabbed a pizza ball. However, Pizza Poppa swiftly recognizes the theft and insists on compensation, making it clear that food isn’t gratis where they currently reside.

In an attempt to calm things down, Strange is mistakenly identified by Pizza Poppa as a legendary hero from his world who allegedly stole the hero’s garments from a museum exhibit. Enraged, he threatens to splash mustard on Strange’s face, but instead, it’s Strange who casts a spell, causing Pizza Poppa to accidentally squirt mustard onto himself and start punching himself repeatedly.

This unusual encounter has sparked numerous theories among fans, suggesting that there could be a deeper side to Pizza Poppa yet undiscovered. If Campbell’s clues prove accurate, we might be on the brink of a significant disclosure.

In a different context, I’m known as the Pizza Poppa. But sometimes, it makes me wonder, ‘Am I truly just the Pizza Poppa in the grand scheme of things, especially in the Marvel universe?’ Let’s not be misled by appearances.

For that movie, my agreement is quite substantial, wouldn’t you agree it’s too bulky for such a minor role?

Campbell also suggested the deeper significance of his character in the film:

In the film, my character didn’t battle or overpower Doctor Strange. Instead, I hindered his progress or schedule in some way. And no, I didn’t exactly save his life, but perhaps I played a part in helping him avoid danger or fulfilling a crucial task for him. As for the larger Marvel universe, there are still many untold stories and events to unfold, so my insights are limited at this point.

In simpler terms, what Campbell proposes fits nicely into the storyline; events involving Doctor Strange usually have a purpose rather than happening by chance or accident. If there is indeed a Doctor Strange 3, it’s possible we’ll discover that Campbell’s character is a cosmic entity, much more powerful than Doctor Strange.
