Lately, during an interview with The Direct, filmmaker Gil Kenan – known for his work on Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire – shared some exciting upcoming projects he has planned.

According to Gil Kenan, it’s confirmed that we will certainly carry on discussing and potentially create more grand Ghostbusters tales for the big screen.

During their discussion, the director also mentioned that they, together with Jason Reitman (associated with the Netflix animated spin-off), aim to maintain the “Ghostbusters” spirit burning brightly for several more years.

Following the less popular 2016 release of Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, Sony decided to revisit the classic storyline featuring the much-admired cast from the 1980s.

Since Ivan Reitman, Jason’s father and director of the first two Ghostbusters movies, as well as the producer for all the installments, passed away, his son was brought in to take over following the collapse of Paul Feig’s project.

Jason amassed the vintage cast, including some cherished spirits, as well as a conspicuous vehicle, all from timeless films.
