As a die-hard Outer Banks fan, I must say that the recent developments in season 4 have left me absolutely thrilled! The much-awaited break for John B. and Sarah Cameron is finally here, and it’s like a breath of fresh air after three seasons filled with non-stop drama. Madelyn Cline‘s candid interview with PEOPLE was an absolute delight to read, as she perfectly encapsulates the feelings of the fans.

In season 4 of Outer Banks, the characters John B. and Sarah Cameron, played by John B. and Madelyn Cline respectively, are blessed with some respite from the series’ usual turmoil. Delighted about this development, Madelyn Cline, who is 26 years old, shared in an interview with PEOPLE that her character and Chase Stokes’ (who plays John B.) finally receive a well-earned break after enduring numerous challenges over the past three seasons.

She expressed that she’s had enough of the ongoing tension, stating, “We’ve experienced three full seasons of turmoil.” Cline confessed that fan inquiries about the on-screen couple’s relationship had grown tiring. “Frankly, I feel they’ve been at odds quite frequently, and it has become tiresome,” she said. “Since I’m tired of fielding questions about it from fans.

Initially, Jonn B and Sarah Cameron were romantic adversaries on the show; however, over time, JJ (Rudy Pankow), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Kiara (Bailey) grew accepting of Sarah being part of their friend circle. In season 3, following her separation from John, Sarah rekindled a relationship with her ex-boyfriend Topper (Austin North), causing tension among the male friends.

The actress didn’t appreciate her character returning to her ex when things turned bad with John. As Cline put it, “Sarah made that choice for herself.” When Bailey jokingly wondered why he seems omnipresent, the actress echoed her thoughts and humorously added, “He just keeps popping up everywhere.

So far this season 4, things have been going smoothly for Sarah and John B and I, but it seems that smooth sailing won’t last forever. In the first episode on October 10, we saw John seeking comfort in Sarah as he grappled with his father’s passing. The two of us were also seen making plans for our future, bringing joy to the ‘Jarah’ fans. Yet, the actress hinted that some stormy times are ahead for us.

She said to the media outlet, “Even though the initial five episodes seem cheerful, it doesn’t guarantee that there won’t be any conflicts.” The first part of Outer Banks season 4 is currently available for streaming on Netflix, and part 2 will premiere on Nov. 7.
