Henry Cavill Set To Star In New Voltron Movie Based On THESE Japanese Sci-Fi Animated Series

As a fervent admirer of captivating storylines and electrifying performances, I find myself utterly thrilled by the upcoming live-action feature, Voltron. Having grown up watching anime classics like Beast King Go Lion and Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV, the prospect of seeing this iconic mecha on the big screen is a dream come true.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: Though Henry Cavill may not return as the iconic character Superman within the DC Extended Universe, he’s gearing up for some spectacular blockbusters, one of which is the highly-anticipated Amazon MGM Studios project, Voltron.

This enormous project, in essence, is slated to become a live-action movie adaptation, focusing on narratives from a renowned mecha anime series. Reports suggest that Rawson Marshall Thurber will direct this project, as we strive to translate the captivating plot onto the big screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, I’m beyond excited to share that I, as a devoted fan, will be sharing the screen with Superman himself, Henry Cavill, in an upcoming film! Daniel Quinn-Toye, a talented actor you might recognize from BBC Three’s Badults, is also part of this project. Furthermore, his impressive resume includes playing Romeo opposite Tom Holland in the West End’s production of Romeo & Juliet. Quite simply, I can hardly wait for this magical moment!

Discussing its origin, Voltron was initially inspired by two Japanese science fiction series: Beast King Go Lion and Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV. Subsequently, due to certain global events, modifications were made and it became known as Voltron: Protector of the Cosmos. The show gained popularity during the 1980s.

Additionally, the narrative revolved around five youthful aviators, belonging to a unit known as Robot Lions. For the uninitiated, these Robot Lions are mechanical creatures that combine to create a colossal robot, known as Voltorn.

According to THR’s report, it appears that both Thurber and Ellen Shanman have been involved in drafting the show’s scripts, but specific details about the storyline are currently confidential.

In this Amazon-MGM collaboration, the project will be overseen by Todd Lieberman through Hidden Pictures. Additionally, Bob Koplar and Thurber from World Events Productions, along with David Hoberman of Hobie Films, are set to contribute to the production team for Voltron.

2023 has seen Henry Cavill deliver a series of captivating films, with his notable role in Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. In this production, he shared the screen with Eiza Gonzalez, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, and others.

Additionally, this year, Henry Cavill appeared prominently in the sole Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Deadpool and Wolverine.

The performer who left a memorable impact in Enola Holmes and The Witcher serves as an executive producer within the Warhammer 40,000 series.
