‘Don’t Let Them Manipulate…’: Dylan O’Brien Talks About Major Accident That Occurred On THIS Film Set And Advice For Future Stars

As an avid fan of Dylan O’Brien’s captivating performances and heart-stopping action sequences, I must say that his recent revelations about safety concerns on film sets have left me both concerned and admiring. His bravery in speaking out about the neglect he faced during The Maze Runner: The Death Cure is commendable, especially considering the life-altering injury he sustained as a result.

As a loyal fan, I’ve always admired Dylan O’Brien for his thrilling action films and captivating narratives. Yet, it was quite surprising when I learned that this talented actor has shared his worries regarding safety issues on the set of one of his well-known productions.

Speaking with Men’s Health, the distinguished actor shared tales from the set of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure, where a severe mishap during filming resulted in him receiving significant injuries.

Additionally, O’Brien expressed that his worries were disregarded and shared observations about the treatment of some new and inexperienced actors on film sets.

In simpler terms for those not familiar, it happened in 2016 while Dylan O’Brien was filming the third part of the popular Maze Runner series. During the shooting, he ended up falling off a moving vehicle unexpectedly, despite wearing a safety harness. Unfortunately, he also struck another vehicle.

After that, Dylan O’Brien has consistently asserted himself on film sets, as he shared during an interview. In fact, he described a typical film set as a place where young actors are often controlled. When a new crew member voices their concerns, they may encounter comments such as, “Don’t be difficult,” or “Don’t make a fuss,” or even “Are you complaining? Are you being difficult?” according to O’Brien.

Afterward, I shared, “Refrain from letting them persuade you that I’m being challenging; instead, consider me as the 24-year-old who was voicing my concerns about our approach back then.

In a related statement, the actor who played in Love and Monsters expressed that not only was his advice disregarded but also he endured a life-altering injury as a result.

While continuing his conversation with the press, Dylan O’Brien shared that the experience taught him a valuable lesson: on film sets, one must solely depend on oneself, as there’s no one else to trust but yourself.

After the major event that occurred during the filming of Maze Runner: The Death Cure for the Ponyboi actor, he subsequently took on the role in American Assassin, marking his debut project following the unfortunate incident.

2017 saw Conan O’Brien opening up to The Hollywood Reporter about the challenging period he experienced post an accident, and referred to the film he collaborated with Michael Keaton as a deeply “personal” endeavor.

The performer has collaborated with numerous prominent figures in the movie world, including Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Rose Byrne, Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, and Kate Hudson from Hollywood films.
