Lisa Kudrow has been open about trying cosmetic procedures and how they’ve affected her. The 62-year-old actress says she probably won’t be getting Botox anymore after experiencing some concerning side effects.
Courteney Cox recently told The Hollywood Reporter that she experienced some unwanted side effects after getting a cosmetic injection. She believes it caused irritation in her eye and a strange rash on her forehead, and she doesn’t plan to get it again.
She’s only been getting injectable treatments for the past two years, so this is a recent change for her. While she’s decided to stop getting them, she has complicated feelings about getting older naturally.
She opened up about something I think a lot of us worry about – how we’ll look as we get older. She admitted she’s a little scared of eventually seeing herself resemble her grandmother, but she also said she’s actually looking forward to taking on roles that require her to play older characters. It’s not the first time she’s been really honest about changing her appearance, which I appreciate.
I recently read about a time she had a nose job as a teenager, and it really stuck with me. She actually told The Saturday Evening Post that before the surgery, she felt truly awful about her appearance, but afterward, she just felt…not awful. It’s such a simple way to put it, but it really highlights how much that one procedure changed her self-perception.
In addition to what’s happening in her personal life, Courteney Cox is also wrapping up a significant work project. She’s confirmed that the third season of her HBO series, The Comeback, will be its last.
The actress believes it’s best to be upfront with fans and clearly state this is the last movie in the series. She said, “We should say ‘third and final’ because I’m not sure I’d want to revisit this role again in the future, so let’s end it now.”
Kudrow feels ending the story now is the best way to show respect for both the fans and her character’s development. She explained, “Giving it a three-part arc feels right – like a trilogy – and this really is the conclusion.”
The show returned after a twelve-year break following its second season. It first aired in 2005 and quickly became known for its witty and critical look at the world of entertainment and reality TV.
The final installment brings back Courteney Cox as the determined Valerie Cherish, alongside familiar faces Dan Bucatinsky, Laura Silverman, and Damian Young. Unlike previous seasons where Valerie yearned for a traditional TV show, this time she’s facing the challenges of a Hollywood now heavily influenced by artificial intelligence.
Despite the embarrassing and uncomfortable situations her character, Valerie, often faces, Kudrow still loves playing her. She told The Hollywood Reporter that it’s actually enjoyable, and she doesn’t find it challenging to act out Valerie’s difficulties.
You know, I was talking to Valerie about the role, and it’s funny. People kept asking her how draining it was to play those really tough scenes where everyone’s so critical of her character. But she just didn’t see it that way! She said it wasn’t grueling at all, and honestly, that makes so much sense. She finds something really rewarding in bringing that unique perspective to life, and that’s what makes the role enjoyable for her, not exhausting.
Kudrow explains that the humor in her character comes from her not realizing how she appears to others. “Valerie essentially lives in her own world,” she shared. “She’s a bit out of touch with reality, and that’s where a lot of the funny moments come from.”
Beyond The Comeback, Courteney Cox continues to be a consistently working actor in TV and movies. She recently appeared in the Apple TV+ series Time Bandits and has also done voice work for numerous animated shows, keeping her regularly on screen.
Kudrow’s latest projects demonstrate her versatility, effortlessly switching between imaginative fantasy stories and realistic portrayals of people. She’s building on her well-known past work while also seeking out roles that allow her to play more nuanced and challenging characters.
