As a long-time comic book enthusiast and MCU aficionado, I can’t help but share my thoughts on the potential casting of Kitty Pride/Shadowcat in the upcoming X-Men films. Having grown up with the original X-Men movies, it’s exciting to imagine how these iconic characters will be portrayed in the MCU.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is set to incorporate the Mutants into its narratives imminently. Given that Disney acquired Fox, this development was anticipated, sparking excitement among fans who are eagerly awaiting further details. Although Mutants have been present in MCU films previously, it’s the X-Men that haven’t made an appearance yet, and while their arrival may still be a ways off, we’ve been assured of a significant event in the future.
Certainly!
Given these circumstances, there’s been much discussion among fans about possible actors to portray X-Men characters, and while it’s suggested that Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart might return to their roles in the MCU, the remaining characters are still uncertain. In this ongoing speculation, we discovered a captivating fan suggestion for the character of Kitty Pride / Shadowcat, who was previously portrayed by Elliot Page in the initial X-Men films before the actor’s transition.
Shadowcat is an engaging figure in the films, and she’s definitely one of the more enigmatic X-Men members, brimming with story possibilities. She made an appearance in all three initial movies, as well as “Days of Future Past”; originally, Sumela Kay and Katie Stuart portrayed a younger version of the character, but Elliot Page (formerly known as Ellen Page) assumed the role in “The Last Stand” and “Days of Future Past”.
Previously, it was intended for Shadowcat to star in her own film. However, those plans were abandoned following Disney’s purchase of Fox. We are optimistic about Shadowcat’s prospects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A Reddit user named NoChallenge6095 suggested that Mary Elizabeth Winstead could be cast as an older rendition of the character within the MCU.
Just here my out here. The next Shadowcat

It’s clear that Winstead possesses the talent for such a part, given her impressive range which deserves recognition. Furthermore, she boasts experience in comic book and sci-fi series, and has won the affection of audiences, making us very satisfied with this fan suggestion. What do other fans feel about it? Here are some opinions:
She’d be a cool Days of Future Past Kate. But it’s highly unlikely they’re looking for a 40 year old Kitty Pryde to kick off the X-Men franchise.

It seems Marvel is hinting at introducing Shadowcat as a high school student or scholar. I personally believe this is a wise decision, but I could also envision Winstead excelling in the role of an adult Kitty Pryde.
– DrewP_85
I’d prefer her for something other than that, as it wouldn’t suit her character. However, there are many other roles suitable for an older character that she could play.
– AttunementOfWord
It seems unlikely that they’ll select a 40-year-old actress for the role, but if they intend to choose Kitty for the character of Jean Grey, it could be fitting.
– vinidluca
I’m excited to see who plays the role of Kitty, but honestly, it’s Kitty we’re talking about! Unless they decide to go with her Kate era character, they need to cast someone younger. Perhaps for a reboot of Days of Future Past, as they can’t recast the original actress.
