‘We Don’t Hear Cut’: Andrew Garfield Recalls Getting Carried Away When Filming Intimate Scene With Florence Pugh In We Live In Time

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for the nuances of Hollywood, I must admit that stories like this one about Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh bring a unique perspective to the world of acting. Their dedication to their craft, particularly in the intimate scenes they shared for “We Live in Time,” is truly commendable.

In the midst of filming an emotionally charged scene for the movie “We Live in Time,” Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh found themselves so deeply immersed that they failed to notice their director calling “cut.” The movie tackles heavy subjects like love, life, and death, demanding actors to fully embrace their characters’ feelings. Initially, Garfield felt awkward, but as they found a rhythm, they began to trust and encourage each other’s instincts, allowing the scene to unfold naturally.

In the forthcoming multi-decade romantic drama, Andrew Garfield (known for playing Spiderman) and Florence Pugh portray Tobias and Almut, a married couple. A particularly intimate scene between them was filmed, causing initial discomfort for both actors. During one of the film’s New York screenings, Garfield shared his memories of that awkwardness.

“Give me your thoughts on this? Shall we share a kiss now? You aren’t obligated, especially since our relationship is merely for show,” he said, mimicking his mannerisms that had everyone in stitches. The star of Tick Tick Boom went on to praise Pugh for her ability to dispel awkwardness with her laughter.

He stated that she often laughed at him because of her strong self-assurance regarding her body, sexuality, and overall identity – Florence is simply Florence, he said. During the filming of an “intensely emotional, fiery love scene,” the performers found themselves immersed in the moment. Initially, they adhered to the prearranged script, but as the scene grew more passionate, they improvised, allowing the emotions to take over.

He pointed out that they often ventured slightly beyond their intended limits since no one called ‘cut,'” Garfield explained. He further mentioned that he and the Dune actress had established a secure environment which motivated them to challenge norms for improved results. “We’re sort of saying, ‘Alright, let’s move on to the next step and the next, allowing things to evolve,'” he added.

At some stage, they both noticed that the shot was running a bit too long. Garfield remembered glancing up to find that the cameraman wasn’t filming them anymore. “I glanced up,” he said, “and in the corner I saw [the cameraman] and our boom operator. He had the camera beside him, turned towards the wall.

We Live in Time will hit the theaters on October 11 in the States and January 1 in the UK.
