As a long-time fan who grew up with Cartoon Network and its magical lineup of shows, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming 10th anniversary special of “Over the Garden Wall”. Having followed Patrick McHale’s career since his early days at Cartoon Network, it feels like a homecoming to see him return to his roots with this beloved series.

The beloved spooky animated miniseries that everyone adores is finally receiving its much-anticipated continuation. The enchanting series Over the Garden Wall is commemorating its 10th anniversary in a special way, offering collectibles directly from the mysterious realm, as well as a fresh two-minute stop-motion episode featuring our beloved heroes, Wirt and Greg.

Patrick McHale, the genius behind the Emmy-winning series “Over the Garden Wall,” is joining forces with Aardman Animations, the studio that brought us claymation icons like Wallace & Gromit and my childhood hero, Shaun the Sheep. The post below gives us a sneak preview of the characters from “Over the Garden Wall” in stop-motion style. Although we’re still unsure about the storyline or whether it will have any plot for this 10th anniversary short, we can’t wait to see what they come up with!

Apart from his major work mentioned earlier, McHale has also been involved in numerous other projects. He kick-started his career at Cartoon Network, where he worked as a writer and storyboard artist on both the shows “Flapjack” and “Adventure Time.” His latest collaboration is co-writing “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio.” With Cartoon Network undergoing numerous transformations throughout the years, we are thrilled to see McHale reconnecting with his origins for the 10th anniversary of “Over the Garden Wall.

In a narrative, we journey with siblings named Wirt and Greg (voiced by Elijah Wood and Colin Dean), who become disoriented in a mysterious forest known as “The Unknown”. The animated series details their escapades as they strive to navigate back to their hometown.

In 2014, Cartoon Network debuted its first-ever miniseries, “Over the Garden Wall.” This marks a decade since the show’s premiere. Interestingly, McHale initially conceptualized “Over the Garden Wall” as an animated short before it evolved into a ten-episode miniseries. Following the series’ popularity, the creators also developed it into a long-running graphic novel series.

On November 3, you can watch the brand-new stop-motion short of “Over the Garden Wall” on Cartoon Network’s YouTube and social media platforms. While it might miss Halloween by a bit, this animation will undoubtedly provide the perfect autumn night viewing experience. To prepare for November, remember that the entire miniseries of “Over the Garden Wall” can be streamed on Hulu.
