As a die-hard fan of Middle-earth and all things Tolkien, I must say that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for me. Despite the naysayers and the so-called “purists,” this series has managed to captivate me with its rich storytelling, intricate world-building, and top-notch performances.
Despite receiving numerous unfavorable reviews and hostility from some self-proclaimed fans, Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series managed to gain immense popularity. In no time, it was renewed for a second season, with both critics and viewers expressing their satisfaction with this new installment, which premiered on August 29, 2024. However, after eight episodes, the season came to an end on October 3, 2024, wrapping up with a finale episode titled “Shadow and Flame,” leaving room for the possibility of a third season.
As a devoted fan, eagerly awaiting news on a possible Season 3, I’ve been scouring the web to share with you the raw, immediate responses following the thrilling Season 2 finale. While we haven’t received official confirmation yet, the hints are intriguing!

Initially, let’s discuss the views of the critics, who, from our research on Rotten Tomatoes, appear quite content with an ending that lived up to expectations and was well-received.
In the final episode of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’s second season, the primary storylines are effectively wrapped up, featuring intense deaths and conflicts. Regrettably, it still exhibits the issues that have been persistent throughout the season.

This ending was absolutely outstanding! Oh my goodness. As a massive Lord of the Rings enthusiast, I must say that the Balrog scene was undoubtedly the most remarkable shot from any Tolkien adaptation to date. Additionally, the lengthy single-shot sequence in the opening was truly impressive. All in all, it was an exceptional finale that left me completely fulfilled. Here’s a tip for House of the Dragon: take note and aim for such quality in your own finales! 🤣🤣

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got to say that the second season of The Rings of Power has outshone the second season of House of The Dragon for me. It was an absolute joy to watch, and I can’t wait to see what unfolds in season three!

We thoroughly enjoyed the second season, my daughters and I! From beginning to end, it was a blast. So, let’s bring on season 3 and keep the fun going!

As the days passed, I spent more of my time getting to know Adar better and figuring out his true nature. His demise left me deeply sorrowful. May he find peace knowing that Sauron will ultimately be overthrown. 👑💍⚔️

However, it’s worth noting that not everyone agrees with this viewpoint. Some voices present differing opinions (albeit a smaller group), and many of these disagreements stem from similar rationales:
This episode was such a jumble of mistakes, it’s almost comical. It’s as if Charlie got swallowed up by poor scripting. His acting skills aren’t in question, but the writing is lackluster. The portrayal of Galadriel falls short of Tolkien’s original character. She seems to be miscast, both physically and spiritually. Amazon’s selection for this role seems off.

This season has been just as poorly crafted as Season 1. It’s hard to believe that McKay and Payne wouldn’t feel ashamed to participate in any creative circles – it’s nothing short of a farce. The direction is uninspired, the supposed grand moments lack impact and fall flat. Someone should intervene before this debacle continues.

I’m surprised that Amazon produced a second season; I’m curious if they’ll prolong the sluggish disaster into a third season. The second season was just as disappointing as the first.
