Freddie Stroma, who plays Vigilante, doesn’t know what the future holds for his character in the DC Universe. Even though the show Peacemaker ended its second season with a cliffhanger, and James Gunn has indicated there aren’t any plans for a third season right now, Stroma says he’s in the dark about what comes next.
The Direct asked Stroma if James Gunn had discussed his potential plans with him, and Stroma gave a very direct answer.
Stroma stated he hasn’t had any conversations about the future of the show and truly doesn’t know what’s planned. While he’s hopeful the unresolved ending will be addressed, he isn’t sure if that will happen through another series, a film, or some other format.
He stated he hadn’t spoken to anyone about the matter. He acknowledged that people often assume he’s being secretive, but he insists he truly has no information. He wished he could be more mysterious, but he genuinely doesn’t know anything about it.

Freddie Stroma says he is completely in the dark
This suggests James Gunn hasn’t yet decided which actors will play these characters in future projects.
Fans have been curious about the fate of Vigilante and the team following the end of Peacemaker Season 2, and Stroma’s recent statements have sparked interest because they address this question.
Instead of teasing a return, Stroma made it clear he is just as much in the dark as everyone else.
This news likely won’t reassure fans eager to know what’s next for Vigilante. The fact that actor James Gunn hasn’t shared any future plans with Stroma suggests either those plans aren’t finalized yet, or Gunn is intentionally keeping them secret.
Up next for Gunn is Man of Tomorrow, which films next month.

Peacemaker Season 3 is not happening right now
The main concern is that James Gunn has stated he doesn’t currently intend to create another season of Peacemaker in the typical format.
I was really interested to hear what James Gunn had to say after the show ended. He explained that the finale wasn’t really designed to lead into a season three, but more to build the foundation for future stories within the DCU. Still, he didn’t completely rule out another season, leaving a little bit of hope with a classic ‘you never know’ comment, which I thought was clever!
Although Peacemaker might appear in future DC Universe projects, it seems the Peacemaker show has concluded.
This detail from Stroma highlights the fact that there aren’t any clear plans for what happens with Vigilante next, or at least, none that the actor is aware of.

Ratings drop adds to the questions
Adding to the doubts, the show’s second season saw a significant drop in viewers as it progressed.
Last autumn, reports showed the show’s audience dropped almost 40% between its first and last episodes, leading to doubts about its future and whether it would stay the same.
This doesn’t necessarily mean we’ve seen the last of those characters. James Gunn has indicated they might reappear in other DC Universe projects. However, according to Strom, many fans are wondering – and nobody at DC seems to know – what the future holds for Vigilante specifically.
