Everyone’s already excited for Sonic the Hedgehog 4, believing it will be just as good as the previous three movies – and we won’t even see it until 2027! If we could buy tickets now, we would. Luckily, Paramount Pictures is giving fans a small preview to hold them over. The first teaser reveals the title and hints at even more mayhem, plus the exciting introduction of Metal Sonic, a popular character from the Sonic games.
The title isn’t a shock – it’s exactly what everyone expected. The trailer gives us a look at the characters, and Jim Carrey returns with a voiceover, confirming that Dr. Eggman is still causing trouble. James Marsden and Tika Sumpter are also back as part of the live-action cast.
Ben Schwartz voices Sonic, with Idris Elba as Knuckles, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, and Keanu Reeves as Shadow. Joining the cast of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 are Ben Kingsley, Matt Berry, Richard Ayoade, and Nick Offerman, who will play currently unannounced characters. Kristen Bell will voice Amy Rose, a new pink hedgehog character who joins the team of heroes.
Director Jeff Fowler announced on Instagram that filming for the movie will begin in March 2026. We’re excited for the action to come!
What Is the Release Date for Sonic the Hedgehog 4?
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will race into theaters on March 19, 2027.
