As a devoted fan who’s been following the hilarious misadventures of Staten Island’s most eccentric vampires since their humble beginnings, I must say, the final season of “What We Do in the Shadows” leaves me with a bittersweet feeling. Six seasons is indeed a remarkable run for any show these days, and while three might be the new norm for streaming series, I’m just glad we got more than that.
Just as everything eventually concludes, even eternal beings such as vampires, the sixth and final season of “What We Do in the Shadows” on FX and Hulu is approaching. Here’s our latest trailer for this grand finale! Our beloved immortal housemates from Staten Island are back one last time, featuring Nandor the Relentless, Laszlo Cranvensworth, Nadja of Antipaxos, Colin Robinson, the Guide, and Guillermo de la Cruz. Don’t miss out on the trailer for “What We Do in the Shadows’” final season right here:
From what I gathered in this trailer, it seems I’m about to welcome a new, undead roomie – old timer named Jerry who took a long nap 50 years ago, and his vampire roommates seem to have overlooked the wake-up call! Also, Nadja is stepping into the corporate world, while Laszlo seems to be dabbling in some Frankenstein-ish science experiments, claiming ignorance about any famous tales involving reanimating corpses.
These days, six seasons is considered a successful run for any cable or streaming show, but it’s rare to see more than three even on popular ones. Given the circumstances, fans should feel grateful for getting as much content as they did. However, the thought of not seeing our beloved inept vampires anymore leaves us feeling melancholic. Could the phrase “Six seasons and a film” be applicable here? Let’s hope that won’t be contradicted by the fact that there was already a What We Do in the Shadows movie, featuring a different cast. In this case, we argue it should not be taken into account.
The opening episode of the last season for the series “What We Do in the Shadows,” featuring Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Kayvan Novak, Mark Proksch, Kristen Schaal, and Harvey Guillén, will be available on FX and Hulu starting October 21.
