Prince Harry has been carrying on his mother’s work by serving as the representative of the organization at significant events throughout its history. In 2019, he paid tribute to Diana by walking through the same minefield in Angola where she had once walked, mirroring an iconic moment from her life. On September 23, Prince Harry attended an event hosted by The Halo Trust and delivered a powerful speech.
At the recent Halo Trust event, a man named Valdemir Fernandes, who had been with Diana during her significant minefield walk in Angola, shared that The HALO Trust’s work in Angola was deeply meaningful to his mother. He emphasized that upholding her legacy is a heavy burden he carries with utmost gravity.
“It was very important,” he said about the Princess’s gesture. Before her visit, there was little awareness of the mine problem around the world. “And when she visited Angola in 1997, she managed to bring international attention to the issue,” he added.
On such a momentous day, I couldn’t help but reminisce about the late Princess herself. She wasn’t afraid; instead, she seemed content and fully understood the significance of what she was doing. As for Prince Harry, he’s truly excelling in his efforts for this cause – he’s doing wonderfully well!
