As a huge fan of The Last of Us, I’m bracing myself for what will likely be the show’s final season on HBO. From what I understand, season three will continue the story, but this time focusing on Abby’s side of things. Even though it might be the end of the road, the show is adding some fantastic new actors! Deadline just announced that Jason Ritter and Patrick Wilson are joining the cast in recurring roles, which is incredibly exciting news.
We’re excited about the casting of Nick Ritter, particularly because his wife, Melanie Lynskey, previously played a villain in this world. He even had a small, uncredited role as a Clicker when she was on the show! Ritter will now play Hanley, a soldier with the WLF. Also, Patrick Wilson will appear in an important, though brief, role as Abby’s father, Jerry.
Tati Gabrielle, Ariela Barer, and Spencer Lord will all be regular cast members going forward. They play the characters Nora, Mel, and Owen. We’re excited to see what unfolds next!
