Why Did Former Beatles Drummer Ringo Starr Cancel His Final Fall Tour Dates? Find Out

As a dedicated follower of the music industry, I have always admired the resilience and unwavering spirit of artists like Sir Richard Starkey, also known as Ringo Starr. His recent health setback during his fall tour may have caused the cancellation of his final two shows, but it is not enough to slow him down.

Being an artist can sometimes be exhausting for one’s body, and health issues can unexpectedly arise. For instance, Sir Richard Starkey, more famously known as Ringo Starr, had to prematurely end his fall tour due to a minor illness at the age of 84. On September 24th, he and his All Starr Band announced the cancellation of their last two performances on the current tour.

According to the statement from Starr’s representative, Ringo is under the weather with a cold. After seeking medical advice, it was recommended that he cancel his upcoming shows on Tuesday evening at TD Pavilion at The Mann in Philadelphia and Wednesday evening at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, so he can rest instead.

Regardless of his recent bout with illness, Starr continues to be an active participant. Alongside his bandmates, he kicked off their autumn tour on the 7th of September in San Diego, and they managed to finish 10 shows before his health issue arose.

The companions for this tour are Colin Hay, Steve Lukather, Edgar Winter, Hamish Stuart, Gregg Bissonette, and Warren Ham. At present, he’s actively involved in creating a country album alongside T Bone Burnett. More information about this project will be disclosed next month.

In April, he put out the EP titled “Crooked Boy,” which was his fourth collection with four tracks. Notably, all the songs were penned and produced by Linda Perry herself.

As a devoted admirer, I find that for the musician, the passage of years seems almost irrelevant, even with his recent milestone of turning 84. Yet, this esteemed figure remains busier than ever, and in an interview with PEOPLE last year, he candidly expressed his belief that age is merely a number.

He stated, “I don’t have any feelings of aging. Inside, I still feel like I’m 27 years old.” He added, “The term ‘wisdom’ might seem weighty, but it’s just part of growing up, and you make an effort to stay active.

To put it simply, Ringo Starr shared that keeping a positive outlook in life comes naturally to him. He’s seldom felt down, recognizing that he has low moments, but generally, he carries an upbeat attitude. In his words, “That’s about all I can say, really,” highlighting his optimistic point of view.

Ringo Starr, formerly of The Beatles, was recognized not once but twice by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Initially, he was honored for his work with The Beatles, followed by an individual induction as a successful solo artist.
