Hulk Finally Discovers the Simple Secret to Defeating Thanos

As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours immersing myself in the vast Marvel universe, I can confidently say that this new Hulk is a game-changer! The way Derek Landy and Geoff Shaw have reimagined Hulk as a cunning fighter, rather than just a mindless brute, adds an exciting layer of strategy to his battles.

In the Marvel Comics universe, Hulk stands out as one of the toughest characters, mainly because of his colossal strength and exceptional longevity. Very few antagonists have managed to defeat Hulk in combat, but Thanos is the rare case who has succeeded.

In both the comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thanos usually came out victorious against the Hulk not by using raw strength, but rather by being cunning and utilizing abilities that were difficult for Hulk to defend against. This strategy made it hard for the Hulk to effectively respond to Thanos’ attacks.

In the year 2024, I found myself immersed in the pages of The Incredible Hulk Annual #1 – a game-changer, indeed! This time around, our green goliath wasn’t relying on his brute strength to take down Thanos. Instead, he opted for an unconventional move: a well-timed sucker punch! Quite the twist, isn’t it?

This part of the “Infinity Watch” crossover tale, penned by Derek Landy and illustrated by Geoff Shaw, depicts the Hulk as a powerful foe for Thanos as he pursues the Infinity Stones.

Yet, the fight took an unexpected turn for Thanos, as Hulk proved unwilling to succumb and instead embraced a more relentless combat approach. The restraints that hindered him in past skirmishes appeared to have vanished.

In this scenario, when Thanos attempts to address or give commands to the Hulk, the Hulk instead takes advantage of the situation to resort to underhanded tactics. He delivers a quick blow to Thanos’s abdomen and even sinks his teeth into the Mad Titan, demonstrating his recent surge in aggression.

In the latest version of this gaming world, I’ve found that Hulk isn’t just about raw power and mindless rage anymore. He’s more like a master tactician now, not shy to use underhand tactics when needed.

Consequently, the Jade Giant quickly subdues Thanos, and it’s Colleen Wing who deals the decisive strike with her katana.

On several occasions in the comic books, Hulk and Thanos have faced off, but it’s just the second time that Hulk has come out on top clearly!
