Batman’s story gets the LEGO treatment again
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an action-adventure game with a strong story, created by TT Games – the team known for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
This game tells the story of Bruce Wayne’s journey to becoming Batman, beginning with his training with the League of Shadows and his eventual dedication to protecting Gotham City. As players progress, they’ll team up with iconic characters like Jim Gordon, Catwoman, Robin, Nightwing, and Batgirl to build a network of allies.
As a huge Batman fan, I’m really excited about the villains they’re including in the game! We’re talking the absolute classics – The Joker, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Bane… basically all the big names who’ve given Batman trouble for decades. It’s shaping up to be a rogues’ gallery for the ages!

Open-world Gotham and new combat
TT Games is also planning a more expansive gameplay experience, with a greater focus on fighting, sneaking, and solving mysteries.
Players can freely roam a detailed Gotham City, navigating streets and rooftops as Batman. They’ll use his iconic gadgets and vehicles – like the Batmobile, Batcycle, and the Tumbler – to fight crime. The game features recognizable locations throughout Gotham, including Arkham Asylum, Ace Chemicals, and Wayne Tower.
The new combat system will combine fast-paced action, stealth, and detective work, according to developers. It seems TT Games is trying to create a more dynamic and action-packed Batman game, but still maintain the fun, familiar LEGO gameplay we all know.
A different kind of LEGO Batman game
The most noticeable thing about LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is that it seems to be telling Batman’s complete story, starting with Bruce Wayne’s origins and following him through his career as Gotham’s hero.
This game has the potential to be something special, going beyond a typical LEGO game. Combining a fresh origin story with a vast, explorable Gotham City, classic villains, and LEGO’s signature humor, it could be TT Games’ most ambitious DC project yet.
With the release now set for May 22, 2026, Batman fans won’t have to wait quite as long.
