Last year, Universal Studios Hollywood launched Fan Fest Nights, bringing popular franchises to life within the park. Events included experiences based on Star Trek, Back to the Future, and more, alongside anime and manga properties like One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen: Hunger of the Cursed. This year, the event is doubling down on anime with the addition of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon the Miracle: Moon Palace Chapter Deluxe, a unique Japanese CG anime short originally featured at Universal Studios Japan’s ‘Cool Japan’ event.
A new short film in Japanese will be shown at the DreamWorks Theatre for park visitors. Fans can enjoy a version with English subtitles starring Super Sailor Moon. The film follows Sailor Moon as she fights a surprising new enemy who wants to steal the Legendary Silver Crystal from a magical ball held in Moon Palace. With the audience cheering her on, Super Sailor Moon will demonstrate the triumph of good over evil, defeat her opponent, and bring peace back to the Moon Palace.
I’m so excited about everything happening at Universal! They’re bringing back some amazing experiences, like seeing the Mystery, Inc. gang investigate classic monsters on the same studio lot where those films were originally made – it’s like stepping back in time with Scooby-Doo Meets the Universal Monsters! Plus, ONE PIECE is back with a live show in the WaterWorld area – ONE PIECE: Grand Pirate sounds incredible! And for those of us who love role-playing, Dungeons & Dragons: Secrets of Waterdeep is returning – they listened to fans like us and are even making it better! They’re also hosting Universal Fan Fest Nights, which is a separate ticketed event, but totally worth it for the exclusive photo ops, character meet-and-greets, and special food and drinks. It’s going to be an unforgettable time!
