1998 saw the release of the hit movie Titanic, which went on to achieve incredible success. During this time, Thompson voiced his apprehensions regarding the film’s unprecedented triumph. On the other hand, Winslet maintained a level-headed approach throughout.

Winslet expressed she believed Thompson was concerned not about her losing control, but rather finding the experience overpowering. Additionally, Winslet mentioned that one piece of guidance from Thompson she’s always remembered is that taking time off is just as essential as being busy in your work (in the context of filming Titanic).

The movie Titanic features Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson and Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater. Not only did it leave an indelible mark on pop culture, transforming into a beloved classic over time, but it also catapulted both actors to great fame.

During a recent screening of her new film Lee, Winslet was surprised by a video message from Thompson and her husband, Greg Wise. Thompson recalled a moment when Winslet urged her to pursue a connection, showcasing their enduring friendship. Wise humorously noted the passage of time, saying, “Thirty years ago, yeah, more than half of my life.”
