New ‘Thunderbolts*’ Photos Hint at an Unrevealed Secret Team Member

As a longtime Marvel enthusiast who’s been following the comic book lore since the days of my youth, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon seeing the lineup for the upcoming *Thunderbolts* film. The idea of a team consisting of anti-heroes and former villains is as intriguing now as it was when DC’s Suicide Squad first hit the silver screen.

Thunderbolts promises an exhilarating addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as it brings together a team that echoes DC’s Suicide Squad – a group of past villains and anti-heroes who appear poised to adopt a more benevolent role in the Marvel universe.

Furthermore, the film will present Sentry, a powerful character from Marvel comics, played by Lewis Pullman.

From the initial trailer and promotional materials released thus far, it seems that we’re already familiar with many of the characters in Thunderbolts. David Harbour will once again play Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen will reappear as Ghost, Sebastian Stan is set to return as Bucky Barnes, and Wyatt Russell comes back as John Walker, better known as U.S. Agent.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Olga Kurylenko will once again take on the role of Taskmaster, and Florence Pugh will continue to portray Yelena Belova, who has now assumed the mantle of the Black Widow.

It’s anticipated that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus and recently announced as the proprietor of Avengers Tower, will head the team. The Tower is speculated to undergo a transformation, possibly becoming Sentry’s Watchtower in the future.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but ponder over the seemingly perfect lineup, yet I find myself intrigued by the hints subtly dropped in the recently released images accompanying the trailer. These clues have sparked speculation amongst us fans that there might be a hidden team member waiting to be revealed. The focus is on a peculiar image where Yelena and Bucky appear to be slightly misaligned, leading many to suspect that maybe someone was digitally erased from the scene.

It’s important to note that no official confirmation has been made yet, but it appears that the scene was intended to highlight Red Guardian. There could be various characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) who might be potential members of the Thunderbolts, though they have not been publicly acknowledged as part of the team so far.

Over a lengthy comic book career spanning decades, approximately 50 characters have graced the team’s roster, ranging from lesser-known to prominent figures. Among these, some notable characters who appear in both comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe are Baron Zemo, Deadpool, Hawkeye, and The Punisher.

As a gamer, I’d say it seems like Deadpool might not be making an appearance just yet in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as they’re probably keeping him on the sidelines for now. And as far as The Punisher goes, he hasn’t graced the MCU screens since his Daredevil series finale, so we might have to wait a bit longer before seeing him again.

As a devoted follower, I’m thrilled to note that Baron Zemo and Hawkeye seem like strong candidates for the next team. From the pool of less recognized figures, we might just get a glimpse of America Chavez, Luke Cage, and the formidable Abomination.

Among all these characters, there’s another one who isn’t officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet but fans are eager to see return: Chloe Bennet’s character, Daisy, better known as Quake from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

Daisy starts off as an accomplished computer hacker who’s part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. squad. At first, she uses the code name “Skye” because of her secretive, challenging past.

Over time in the storyline, we come to understand that Daisy possesses special powers because she is an Inhuman – a being with extraordinary abilities gained through contact with the Terrigen Mist. Specifically, her capabilities allow her to control and shift vibrations.

Based on the level of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s involvement with the Thunderbolts team, there’s a possibility we could see her appear. Lately, there have been whispers about Quake appearing in the MCU during Secret Invasion, but considering the show’s lackluster performance, it seems wiser that the character wasn’t linked to that particular project.
