Parisian studio Eko Software, the creators of games like Warhammer: Chaosbane and the How to Survive series, recently released the full version of Dragonkin: The Banished. The game spent a year in early access, starting March 6, 2025, allowing the developers to improve it based on player feedback. Currently, it has a very positive rating on Steam, with 85% of recent reviews being positive, so players can now experience the complete, polished version of this ravaged world.
I’m really getting into Dragonkin: The Banished! You play as one of four dragonhunters, and the whole point is to save humanity from a dragon invasion. What I love is how much you can customize your character – there are tons of different ways to build them up. It’s got this cool system called the Ancestral Grid where you combine skills with fragments you find while exploring. Plus, the city of Montescail is awesome – it’s like a central base where you can plan everything out. You even get a little dragon whelp to help you out! The story is pretty intriguing, and there’s a ton to do after you finish it, with epic battles and lots of endgame content.
Dragonkin: The Banished is out now on PC, and will be released on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 19th.
