As a seasoned Brown Dust player with countless hours spent grinding and strategizing, I can confidently say that Whitebolt Yuri is a game-changer in my arsenal! With her unique buff removal skill, high ATK stat, and exclusive weapon’s 90% Critical Damage, she’s a force to be reckoned with.
The skill for removing all buffs is quite beneficial and not frequently found; only Schera and Eleaneer, aside from this unit, possess such a full buff-removal ability.
+ High ATK stat, 90% C.DMG on exclusive weapon unique stat, and good skill damage at all levels
+ One of the few units with “X” shape front damage
+ Great synergy with Comeback Idol Yuri to make one of the highest damage attack combos
- Not as good as PMB.Eleaneer and PP.Schera for buff removal in PVP.
- Needs Comeback Idol Yuri to complete the combo.
Yuri for PVE
Whitebolt Yuri is an exceptional choice for various PVE battles due to her ability to dish out significant damage, utilize a beneficial X-shaped area of effect (AOE), and strip buffs from enemies. One of the few characters with frontal X-shaped AOEs, this shape is incredibly useful for managing groups of mobs. Since light attacks are not vulnerable to any elements, she makes an excellent addition to your primary story/PVE team.
Despite the fact that Whitebolt Yuri’s skill Attack (ATK) boost doesn’t multiply effectively with other ATK enhancers, she remains a highly effective PVE attacker. In fact, when fully upgraded to +5, Yuri delivers a damage output of 4 * 105% = 483%, taking into account chain damage as well. This figure, on its own, is quite impressive.
Significantly, Yuri’s special ability endures for 4 rounds (2 rounds per player). This allows for its strategic use along with Comeback Idol Yuri. While Comeback Idol Yuri is already powerful (among the most potent light attacks), the ATK boost from Whitebolt Yuri makes it even more formidable. Consequently, Yuri, equipped with this high-damage combo, proves ideal for dark fiend hunts and guild raids.
Apart from being exceptional in the Tower of Salvation, Yuri excels at handling diverse enemy setups due to her two outfits. She’s capable of dealing massive damage to bosses, as well as eliminating annoying buffs on enemies.
Yuri for PVP
Yuri is an excellent pick for Player versus Player (PVP) battles due to her ability to dish out significant damage and eliminate enemy buffs. Furthermore, both of her costumes are reasonably priced at 3 SP and have a cooldown of only three turns after upgrades, ensuring she’s always ready to use her skills without any downtime. Notably, both her costumes deliver high physical damage. When combined with a crit buffer like RH.Rou, Yuri becomes particularly proficient at dealing potentially lethal blows to any target she strikes.
The primary cause of her not being more widely used in Player vs Player battles is due to intense competition from Schera and Eleaneer for the role of buff remover. Both Schera and Eleaneer have costumes that remove buffs at just 2 SP, making them highly preferred choices for offensive teams as they provide a robust starting point for their attacks.
Still, Yuri does have her own advantages in PVP. Her X-shape physical attack can be a surprise in a meta where many team formations are built to play around NB.Eclipse’s magic attack with straight line AOE. The “stealth mode” on Comeback Idol can also improve Yuri’s survivability a lot when positioned correctly.
Conclusion
Yuri performs exceptionally well as a light attacker when she dons both her Whitebolt and Comeback Idol outfits. To get the best results from Yuri, it’s ideal to level up both costumes significantly. Her combat abilities excel in almost all PVE situations, particularly during fiend hunts and guild raids. If you’ve previously invested in Comeback Idol Yuri, then acquiring at least one Whitebolt outfit is essential. Fortunately, only a single Whitebolt copy is required for the duo because its attack boost reaches maximum potency at +0 (unlike Sword Queen Sylvia who doesn’t reach her full attack boost until +5).
In Player versus Player scenarios, Yuri appears less dominant compared to Schera and Eleaneer, as they each possess two abilities to remove Special Skill buffs. However, Yuri remains a powerful contender in the battlefield.
