As a die-hard fan who’s spent countless hours immersed in the Marvel Universe, I must admit that the theories surrounding Teen‘s parentage in Agatha All Along have me absolutely spellbound! The intricate tapestry of Marvel lore is so rich and complex that it often feels like unraveling an endless ball of yarn.
Agatha All Along debuted its initial two episodes, revealing a host of captivating enigmas. One of the most compelling puzzles revolves around the identity of Teen’s parents.
A widely accepted hypothesis posits that the main character could be Billy Kaplan, who goes by Billy Maximoff or Wiccan in the comic books – a possibility suggesting he is the reborn son of Wanda.
The second hypothesis, though less probable, is captivating, especially when considering Teen’s connections with other Marvel Cinematic Universe characters. This theory proposes that Teen might be none other than Nicholas Scratch, Agatha’s long-lost son, whom she secretly visits in her home during the initial episode of Agatha All Along.
It’s not clear how Nicholas Scratch met his fate, however, there’s a widely believed notion that Agatha may have given him up as a sacrifice in order to acquire the Darkhold.
If it turns out that the character named Teen is actually Nicholas Scratch, he might open up an avenue for Dormammu to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), making him a possible adversary for the Fantastic Four.
In simpler terms, Nicholas Scratch, born to Agatha Harkness, was associated with the clandestine New Salem coven of sorcerers. Agatha, who once lived in this secretive group, chose to dwell among ordinary folks instead and served as a nanny to Franklin Richards, whose parents are Reed and Sue Richards from the Fantastic Four.
In his role as chief of New Salem, Scratch managed to sway the townsfolk into believing Agatha had deceived them, which resulted in her capture for trial and eventual execution. Incidentally, they also apprehended Franklin, leading the Fantastic Four to step in. During Agatha’s court proceedings, the Four disclosed that they hadn’t known about New Salem until Scratch’s actions brought it to light. Infuriated by this revelation, Scratch assaulted them, eventually getting exiled to the Dark Realm.
Afterwards, when Agatha came back with the Fantastic Four for a celebration, they met the Salem’s Seven who overpowered them and induced a trance in Agatha and New Salem’s inhabitants. The Salem’s Seven then utilized the unconscious bodies of the Fantastic Four to resurrect Nicholas. Eventually, Agatha was able to disempower the Salem’s Seven and incarcerate Nicholas.
After finding myself drawn into the Negative Zone, I made my way back to Earth, taking over Franklin’s body. Gabriel, the relentless Devil Hunter, managed to contain me, but only temporarily. In the end, our united forces were able to subdue me, restore the Dark Realm, and even saw Agatha strip me of my magic and disavow me as her son.
It’s not very likely that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will tell this specific comic book story directly, but keeping his villainous connection to the Fantastic Four could make for an intriguing twist, particularly since they are set to appear in the MCU for the first time next year.
