Robert Pattinson Dies Again and Again in Bong Joon Ho’s MICKEY 17 Trailer

As a long-time cinephile who has seen the rise and fall of many promising directors, I can confidently say that Bong Joon Ho’s latest offering, “Mickey 17,” has me utterly thrilled and on the edge of my seat. Having been captivated by the masterful storytelling in “Parasite,” I eagerly await the release of this sci-fi comedy that promises to deliver a unique blend of humor, drama, and social commentary.

2019 marked the release of the film “Parasite”, which seems like it was just yesterday, doesn’t it? Far from it if you’re among the countless cinephiles eagerly anticipating director Bong Joon Ho’s next project following his historic Best Picture win. Surprisingly, his upcoming film, titled “Mickey 17“, will see Robert Pattinson meet his demise – repeatedly. The initial trailer for this intriguing production presents a character who is quite literally disposable in his line of work. His role demands him to sacrifice his life for his employer, a demand that repeats over and over again. This film, with its gripping storyline, promises to make the long wait for another Bong Joon Ho masterpiece worth it.

This trailer appears to be flawless in every aspect. The visuals are simply breathtaking. Moreover, its storyline is exceptional as it adapts Edward Ashton’s novel “Mickey 7”. Furthermore, the ensemble cast seems destined to shine in a captivating blend of sci-fi comedy and biting social critique. Essentially, it offers everything one could hope for in a film. Additionally, if you’re a die-hard Robert Pattinson fan, you’ll be thrilled to know that he plays a significant role in it.

Beyond its leading actor, this movie boasts an exceptional ensemble cast, including myself as a fan, who’s thrilled to see Naomi Ackie from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Steven Yeun from Nope, Toni Collette from Hereditary, and Mark Ruffalo from Poor Things.

Besides Bong Joon Ho, the movie is also produced by an equally talented team. This team includes Dooho Choi, a fellow producer and longtime collaborator of Bong Joon Ho (known for their work on Okja and Snowpiercer). Additionally, the film’s production team includes Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, who have previously worked on movies like Moonlight and 12 Years a Slave.

The film titled “Mickey 17” is set to hit American theaters on January 31, 2025. However, audiences outside North America will get an early viewing from January 28. Will it match the success of “Parasite”? That’s a challenging goal, but we can hardly wait to see if it does.
